In pursuance of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, I have to respectfully notify you that the valid votes for the loan proposal for £2,000 for the purpose of purchasing a fire-engine and equipment of fire-alarm system complete, and taken at Rangiora on the 29th day of July, 1926, were as follows:—
For the proposal, 301; against the proposal, 97; informal, 2.
I therefore declare that the loan proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Waitara taken on the 29th day of June, 1926, on the proposal of the Waitara Borough Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of tar-grouting the main street from the Taranaki County boundary on the south to the Clifton County boundary on the north,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 210; against the proposal, 73; informal, 1; total, 284.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Special Loan of £10,500 for Roading Purposes, Papakura and Wairoa Ridings.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Papakura and Wairoa Ridings of the County of Manukau taken on the 29th day of July, 1926, on the proposal of the Manukau County Council to borrow the sum of £10,500 for the purpose of regrading, culverting, draining, and providing foundations and shoulders, constructing and paving with cement concrete, and the completing the whole of that portion on the Great South Road Main Highway situated within the boundaries of the Papakura Riding of the County of Manukau,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 556; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 44.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Papakura Town District, taken on the 7th day of July, 1926, on the proposal of the Papakura Town Board to borrow the sum of £15,500 for the reconstruction of the Great South Road,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 370; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 46.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Regulations as to Drainage and Plumbing under the Health Act, 1920, applied to the Town District of Kaponga and the County of Amuri. (H. 2/46.)

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made on the 3rd day of September, 1923, and gazetted on the 6th day of the same month, regulations (to be cited as the “Drainage and Plumbing Regulations”) were made under the Health Act, 1920, prescribing the conditions to be observed in the construction of approved drains, septic tanks, sanitary conveniences, and sanitary appliances:
And whereas by the said regulations it was provided that the same were suspended as provided in the said Act:
And whereas by section 133 of the said Act it is enacted that the operation of any such regulations may, if so provided therein, be wholly suspended until they are applied by the Minister by notice in the Gazette to any part of New Zealand:
Now, therefore, I, James Alexander Young, Minister of Health, in exercise of the power and authority given by the said regulations and by section 133 of the said Act, do hereby apply the said regulations to the Town District of Kaponga and County of Amuri, and do hereby declare that this notice shall take effect on the 1st day of September, 1926.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1925, and the Motor-lorry Regulations Amendment No. 1, I, Kenneth Stuart Williams, Minister of Public Works, do hereby approve of the Taranaki County Council’s proposed classification of roads as set forth in the Schedule hereto.
