Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.
MERVYN FINLAY, Esquire, of 141 Elizabeth Street, Sydney, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Honourable Charles Perrin Skerrett, Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

First Meeting of the recently constituted Mount Roskill Fire Board.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the One Tree Hill Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

ONE TREE HILL ROAD DISTRICT.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the One Tree Hill Road District taken on the 14th day of July, 1926, on the proposal of the One Tree Hill Road Board to borrow the sum of £24,350, for—
(a.) Constructing in concrete that portion of the carriageway on the Great South Road from the Harp of Erin to Green Park Road; also that portion of Great South Road from Church Street to St. Ann Bridge;
(b.) Kerbing and constructing footpaths on either side of the Great South Road from the Harp of Erin to Green Park Road;
(c.) Taking up and relaying water and gas pipes where necessary;
(d.) Providing storm-water drainage where necessary,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 540; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 353. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Shannon, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

SHANNON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Loan of £10,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Shannon was taken on the 19th July, 1926, on the proposal of the Shannon Borough Council to borrow the sum of £10,000 to enable the said Council to erect new municipal offices, municipal picture-theatre, purchase of furnishings and fittings, social hall, library, living-rooms, and ladies’ rest-room.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 22; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 112. I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.
Loan of £700.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Shannon was taken on the 19th July, 1926, on the proposal of the Shannon Borough Council to borrow the sum of £700 to enable the said Council to undertake and carry out alterations, extensions, additions, and renovations to the municipal buildings and to erect a ladies’ rest-room.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 92; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 53. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
