Authorizing the Woodville Borough Council to erect a Monument as a Permanent War Memorial.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of August, 1926.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Finance Act, 1919 (hereinafter referred to as “the said section”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the erection by the Woodville Borough Council of a monument as a permanent war memorial, as provided by the said section; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby approve of the erection of such monument in that portion of Woodville described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

WOODVILLE WAR MEMORIAL SITE.

ALL that area in the Borough of Woodville bounded on the north by Pollen Street, on the east by Ross Street, on the south by Bowen Street, and on the west by Ormond Street.

Boundaries of Borough of Otaki altered.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of August, 1926.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and gazetted on the eleventh day of the same month, altering the boundaries of the Borough of Otaki, and doth hereby declare that as on and from the date specified in that Order in Council the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Otaki and included in the County of Horowhenua; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby further declare that as and from the aforesaid date the area included as aforesaid in the County of Horowhenua shall be added to and form part of the Otaki Riding of that country.


SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF OTAKI.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded on the north by the Waitohu Stream from the north-eastern corner of the Taumanuka Block to the north-western corner of the Mangapouri Block; thence along the western boundary of the Mangapouri Block to the Mangapouri Stream; thence along the Mangapouri Stream to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 3, plan 3364, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence along that south-eastern boundary to its intersection with a right line running from the south-western corner of Church Mission Grant of 33 acres 3 roods to the north-eastern corner of Taumanuka No. 2A Block; thence along that line to the north-eastern corner of Taumanuka No. 2A Block; and thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said Taumanuka Block to the Waitohu Stream, the place of commencement.

Consenting to Additional Land being taken for the Purposes of a Post-office and Automatic Telephone-exchange at Courtenay Place in the City of Wellington.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the additional land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for the purposes of a post-office and automatic telephone-exchange at Courtenay Place in the City of Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken: 15·47 perches, being portion of Sections 284 and 285, Town of Wellington.

Situated in the City of Wellington. (S.O. 2115.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 66638, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered purple.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of August, 1926.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.


SCHEDULE.

Feilding County Council (for the purpose of providing relief-works for unemployed) .. £ 2,000
Pohangina Borough Council (for completing the erection of bridges in the Tamaki Riding) .. 75
New Lynn Town Board (for the purpose of providing relief-works for unemployed) .. 2,000
Waitotara County Council (for completing the metalling of the Rangitatau East Road) .. 5,000
