NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 16th day of January, 1926, cancelled the registry of Alexandra Lodge, No. 27, of The Grand Lodge of the North Island of New Zealand of the United Ancient Order of Druids, Friendly Society (Register No. 296/26), held at Karangahake, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.
SHIRLEY CHANNELLING LOAN.
WHEREAS the sum of eight hundred pounds (£800) borrowed by the Waimairi County Council on 10th January, 1916, for the purpose of kerbing and channelling in that area in the Avon Riding of the Waimairi County known as the Shirley Channelling Loan Special Area is due and payable on the 10th day of January, 1926: And whereas the accumulated sinking fund is insufficient to pay off the said loan, the sum of eight hundred pounds (£800) is required for that purpose: Now, therefore, the Waimairi County Council, in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby resolves by way of special order,——
First, to borrow the said sum of eight hundred pounds (£800) for the purpose of paying off the said loan.
Second, That the said sum of eight hundred pounds (£800) shall be repayable on the 10th day of January, 1936, or such earlier date as may be determined by the Council.
Third, That for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan of eight hundred pounds (£800) the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-farthings (¾d.) in the pound on the rateable value (being capital value) of all the rateable property in the said Shirley Channelling Loan Special Area as defined in a notice appearing in the Press, Times, and Sun newspapers of 4th December, 1915; and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate, and shall be payable annually on the 10th day of January in each year during the currency of the said loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
WHEREAS the resolution passed by the Tauranga Borough Council on the 24th day of November, 1925, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette on the 10th day of December, 1925, at page 3382, striking a special rate of five-sixths (5/6ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Tauranga for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking-fund, and other charges on the Tauranga Borough Streets Loan of £8,000, 1925, being part of a loan of sixteen thousand six hundred and seventy pounds (£16,670) authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council for the purposes hereinafter mentioned, is defective and such resolution be rescinded.
- In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Tauranga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £16,670 (sixteen thousand six hundred and seventy pounds) authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of—
(1.) Forming, grading, metalling, asphalting, bitumenizing, kerbing, and channelling the streets and footpaths of the borough as mentioned in the voting-paper used at the said poll of the ratepayers .. .. .. £14,300
(2.) For constructing stormwater-drains from 4th Avenue to 1st Avenue and thence across Cameron Road to Waikareao Estuary .. 900
(3.) For purchase of road-grader, road-sweeper, road-making plant, and erection of shed for plant .. .. .. 300
(4.) For cost of raising the loan and first year’s interest and sinking fund .. .. 1,170
£16,670
the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-sixths (5/6ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Tauranga; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MAIN AREA ELECTRIC-LIGHTING REDEMPTION LOAN.
WHEREAS the sum of six thousand five hundred and fifty pounds (£6,550) being part of a loan of £10,850 borrowed by the Waimairi County Council on 10th January, 1921, and seven thousand nine hundred pounds (£7,900) borrowed on 10th January, 1916, for the purpose of electrical reticulation in the Waimairi County is due and payable on the 10th day of January, 1926; And whereas the accumulated sinking fund provided is insufficient to pay off the said loans, the sum of fourteen thousand four hundred pounds (£14,400) is required for that purpose: Now, therefore, the Waimairi County Council in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby resolves by way of special order :—
