NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee has filed in the Supreme Court an election to administer in respect of the several estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations (so far as known) are hereunder set forth.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 30 of the Mining Amendment Act, 1914, that, unless sufficient cause to the contrary be shown within three months of the date hereof, the mining privileges mentioned in the Schedule hereto will be struck off the Register.

Notice to Mariners No. 35 of 1926.

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Department of Defence, Melbourne, Department of Trades and Customs, Melbourne, Department of Navigation, Sydney, Hydrographic Office, London, and the Hydrographic Office, Washington, are published for general information.

[PRELIMINARY.]
SPAIN, WEST COAST.—PONTEVEDRA BAY.
Isla Ons Light.—To be replaced by New Light.
Date of Alteration.—About the end of June, 1926.
Position.—Lat. 42° 23′ N., long. 8° 56′ W. (approx.).
Details.—The fixed and flashing white light will be replaced by a new light, situated close north-westward of the existing light, having the undermentioned characteristics :—
Character.—Group-flashing white showing four flashes every twenty-four seconds, thus: Flash 0·3 sec., eclipse 3·7 sec.; flash 0·3 sec., eclipse 3·7 sec.; flash 0·3 sec, eclipse 3·7 sec.; flash 0·3 sec., eclipse 11·7 sec.
Elevation.—411 ft. (125m2). Visibility.—27 miles.
Structure.—An octagonal tower, 42 ft. (12m8) in height.
Remarks.—The new lighthouse, which is now under construction, obscures the existing light between the bearings 164° through south to 185°.
Note.—Further notice will be given.
(1883) BRITISH COLUMBIA.—VANCOUVER ISLAND.
West Coast.—Cape Beale Light.—Characteristic changed.
The characteristic of Cape Beale Light has been changed to fixed and flashing, with white and red sectors, every 7 seconds, visible 19 miles. During one half of the total period, or 3·5 seconds, the light is totally eclipsed; for the other half a fixed white light of 450 candle-power is visible through which the flash of 20,000 candle-power shows. The limits of the sectors remain unchanged.
Approx. Position.—48° 47′ 30″ N., 125° 13′ 16″ W.
SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.
Filippo Reef.—Breakers reported south-westward of.
Position.—At a distance of about 30 miles south-westward Filippo reef. Lat. 5° 50′ S., long. 152° 14′ W. (approx.).
Details.—The master of s.s. “Tuscalusa” reported having sighted breakers in this position, which is to be encircled by a danger-line on the charts, with the note “Breakers repd. (1926).”

PACIFIC OCEAN.—SAMOA ISLANDS.
Apia Harbour.—Alteration in Characteristics of Lights.
East reef light.
Position.—On the western point of East reef. Lat. 13° 49′ S., long. 171° 46′ W. (approx.).
Abridged Description.—Fl. G. ev. 3 sec., 16 ft., 2 M. (U).
Details.—The fixed green light has been replaced by a light having the undermentioned characteristics :—
Character.—Flashing green every three seconds. Elevation.—16 ft. (4m9). Visibility.—2 miles.
Remarks.—The note “unreliable” against this light is to be deleted from the charts.
(Positions are only approximate unless given in seconds.)
FIJI ISLANDS.—SUVA AND LAUTHALA HARBOURS.
- Cable-hut erected on Suva Point.
Position.—Latitude 18° 09′ 52″ South, longitude 178° 26′ 39″ East.
Remarks.—The cable-hut is white with a red roof and is conspicuous. Alongside the hut, on the east side, is a white post surmounted by a white triangle, point up, with “CABLE” in black, written on the base. It is proposed to exhibit a flashing light from this hut in the future.
