HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of officers of the Staff and N.Z. Military Forces.

STAFF.

Captain F. L. Hunt (N.Z. Staff Corps) relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 5th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Otago Hussars) and Adjutant, 1st Battalion the Otago Regiment, and is appointed Area Officer, Area 11A. Dated 31st May, 1926.

Captain S. M. Satterthwaite (N.Z. Staff Corps) relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 11A, and is appointed Adjutant, 5th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Otago Hussars), and Adjutant, 1st Battalion, the Otago Regiment. Dated 31st May, 1926.

Captain H. J. Redmond, M.B.E. (N.Z. Staff Corps) relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 1A (dated 8th March, 1926), and is appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Northern Command. Dated 8th March, 1926.

6TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (MANAWATU).

Lieutenant A. G. Simpson, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant. Dated 24th May, 1926.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain J. Abel to be Major, 15th Coast Battery. Dated 13th May, 1926.

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.

Major N. Annabell, M.C., is seconded from the Central Depot, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, and is appointed to command the 1st Cadet Battalion, Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated 23rd December, 1925.

Southern Depot.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) H. J. Cummins is confirmed.

THE N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) J. K. Asher, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 21st January, 1924.

2nd Lieutenant C. R. Bach ceases to be seconded for service with the 4th C. Battalion, and is posted for duty to the 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 29th July, 1921. Dated 20th May, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant F. C. Cornwall, M.C., from the Reserve of Officers, to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 20th May, 1926.

The North Auckland Regiment.

John Duncan McDonald to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), 1st C. Battalion. Dated 13th May, 1926.

The Hauraki Regiment.

Lieutenant C. A. D’A. Blackburn to be Captain, 1st Battalion. Dated 18th April, 1926.

The Wellington Regiment.

Major F. F. Miles, from the Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be Major, with seniority as from the 21st September, 1925, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C. Battalion. Dated 20th May, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) J. R. Grigg, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), with seniority as from the 31st July, 1925, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C. Battalion. Dated 20th May, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant C. B. Lewis (1st Battalion) is granted leave of absence for a period of twelve months as from 13th April, 1926, and is seconded from his unit whilst so absent.

The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants:—

Clarence Meachen, 2nd C. Battalion. Dated 12th May, 1926.

Howard Arthur Savage, 4th C. Battalion. Dated 15th May, 1926.

Lieutenant J. W. Ward (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 17th May, 1926.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

Major F. F. Miles (1st C. Battalion) is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 20th May, 1926.
