Appointing a Member of the Nelson Harbour Board.

WHEREAS it is provided by the twenty-eighth section of the Harbours Act, 1923, that if any constituent district or combined district fails at any election to elect the required number of representatives the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint such qualified persons as he thinks fit to be the representatives of that district in lieu of those who ought to have been elected; and the persons so appointed shall hold office in all respects as if they had been duly elected in conformity with the said Act:
And whereas three members of the Nelson Harbour Board should have been elected by the electors of that portion of the Waimea County within the Nelson Harbour District:
And whereas the said electors at the election held on the twelfth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, elected two members only to the Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint
Frank Webber Greenslade
to be a member of the Nelson Harbour Board as a representative of the electors of that portion of the Waimea County within the Nelson Harbour District, to fill the vacancy caused by the before-mentioned failure to elect.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of June, 1926.

Setting apart Unalienated Crown Land for Purposes of Part III (State Coal-mines) of the Coal-mines Act, 1925.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section one hundred and sixty-seven, subsection one, of Part III (State Coal-mines) of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and in exercise of the powers thereby conferred, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the unalienated Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for the purposes of Part III of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 230 acres, more or less, being portion of the Waahi Lake, situated in the Parish of Pepepe. Bounded towards the north-east by Sections 31, the termination of a public road, and Sections 30, 29, 28, 27, and 26 of the aforesaid parish; towards the south-east by Sections 44, 45, and 46 of the aforesaid parish; towards the south-west and west by lines forming the boundary of the Taupiri Coal-mines (Limited) lease to the south-western boundary of Section 31 aforesaid, the place of commencement. As the same is delineated on the plan marked Mines N. 10/3/205, deposited in the Head Office, Mines Department, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify an declare that
Leslie Gavin Campbell Bartram Packard,
being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Te Aro, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
