Otorohanga-Pirongia Road for a distance of about 60 chains, the Otorohanga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Mangamahoe Special-rating Area as described in the Schedule hereto; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable half-yearly on the first day of April and the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 36½ years, or such shorter period as may be determined by the Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE SCHEDULE HEREBEFORE MENTIONED.

All that area in the Orahiri Survey District, commencing at the junction of the Otorohanga-Pirongia Road with the Mangamahoe Road; thence southward along the Otorohanga-Pirongia Road to the south-east corner of Section 14A; thence westward along the southern boundary of the said Section 14A for a distance of 30 chains; thence south-west bisecting Q 3B to the western boundary of the said Section Q 3B; thence northward along the western boundary of the said Section Q 3B to the Mangamahoe Road; thence westward along the Mangamahoe Road for a distance of 20 chains; thence north-west, bisecting Section 6, to a stream; thence north-east through Section 6 and P. 2, 2, to the most westerly point of Section 15A; thence eastwards, bisecting Section 15A, to a stream; thence along the stream to the eastern boundary of Section 15A; thence following the said boundary to the point of commencement.

Upper Mangawhero Special Loan.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500, authorized to be raised by the Otorohanga County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming, culverting, and metalling the Mangawhero Road along frontages of Tahaia B, B 2A, B 2c 3, and also to erect a bridge over the Mangawhero Stream on the same road, the said Otorohanga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and a farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Upper Mangawhero Special-rating Area as described in the Schedule hereto, on the basis of the unimproved value; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and that pending the raising of the said special loan of £1,500 this Council, pursuant to the provisions of section 30 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, resolves to borrow by hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures from Robert Green a sum of £500 to meet its requirements as it is hereby authorized so to do, and accordingly that the deed of mortgage between the Corporation and the said Robert Green submitted by Messieurs Phillips and Patterson to this meeting be approved, and that the Chairman and Councillor Irvine are hereby authorized to affix the common seal of the Corporation thereto and execute the said deed of mortgage on behalf of this Council. The rate of interest payable under the mortgage to be £6 per centum per annum.

THE SCHEDULE.

All that land situated in the Mangaorongo Survey District commencing at the south-west corner of Mangawhero 1B 2; thence along the north-west and north-east boundary of that block, the north-east and eastern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 24c; thence in a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 12, Block IX, Mangaorongo Survey District, along the eastern boundary of that block to the road, along the road, to the north-western corner of Section 13 of that block; along the eastern boundaries of Sections 13, 14, 15, Lot 1, of Section 27 of Blocks XI and XIII, Mangaorongo, the southern boundary of the said Lot 1; thence along the Mangawhero Stream to the south-western corner of Section 10, Block IX, Mangaorongo; thence along the south-western boundary of the said Section 10, across a road, and along the north-eastern and north-western boundary of Section 6, Block IX, Mangaorongo, to the Mangamutu Stream; thence along the said stream to the south-western corner of Tahaia B 2A; thence along the south-western, western, and north-eastern boundaries of the block to the point of commencement.

KAITAIA TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kaitaia Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £400, authorized to be raised by the Kaitaia Town Board under the above-mentioned Act, for forming, culverting, and metalling that part of Empire Street, the said Kaitaia Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4·125d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Empire Street Special-rating Area, comprising property in the boundaries commencing on the north-east, by public reserve, abutting on Sections 247 and 253; then on the south-east by Section 259, part Dunn Street, Sections 221, 212, part Matthews Avenue, part Section 136; then on the south-west by Section 135, other part Empire Street, and Section 130; then on the north-west by part Section 125, part Matthews Avenue, Sections 191 and 197, part Dunn Street, and by Section 246 (all the aforesaid sections being within the Kaitaia Town District); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500 (being 10 per cent. of an original loan of £5,000), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings, the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one two-hundredths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Waitomo; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership of Messieurs PARR, BLOMFIELD, and ALEXANDER, carrying on business at Shortland Street, Auckland, as Barristers and Solicitors, has this day been dissolved.

The Hon. Sir James Parr, K.C.M.G., retires from the firm, and ceases to be a partner or have any interest therein as from this date. We, the undersigned, will continue to carry on business under the old firm name.

Tuesday, the 30th day of March, 1926.

UPON the petition of C. L. NEILSEN AND COMPANY (LIMITED AND REDUCED) on the 29th day of March, 1926, preferred into this Court, and upon the application of Mr. Kight, of counsel for the said company, and upon reading the said petition and the affidavits of Charles Lawrence Neilsen and Charles James Annett sworn and filed herein, and the consents of the secured and unsecured creditors filed herein, and upon being satisfied that every creditor of the petitioning company who under the provisions of the said Act is entitled to object to the reduction has consented to the entry hereinafter mentioned, this Court doth order that the entry made in the said company’s minute-book on the 10th day of March, 1926, in accordance with subsection (6) of section 168 of the Companies Act, 1908, and which entry was in the words and figures following, that is to say:—

“That the capital of C. L. NEILSEN AND COMPANY (LIMITED AND REDUCED) be reduced from £33,300 (divided into 33,300 fully paid up shares of £1 each) to £16,650 (divided into 33,300 shares of 10s. each), such reduction to be effected by reducing the nominal amount of the shares from £1 to 10s. each.

“That the existing ordinary share certificates be cancelled, and that new certificates be issued subject to clause 2 of the articles of association.”
