Except otherwise specified, wool, undumped, to Timaru from stations on
the main line within nineteen miles distance will be charged at ls. 3d. per
bale for distances up to and including fourteen miles, and 1½d. per bale for
each additional mile.

Nomination of New Zealand Boys for Special Entry Cadetships
in the Royal Navy.

It is hereby notified for general information that the
Lords of the Admiralty have agreed to allow nomination of New Zealand boys to be made for admission to special-entry cadetships in the Royal Navy. Under this scheme boys enter the Navy between seventeen and a half and eighteen and a half years of age, after qualifying in an examination held in the Dominion and satisfying the Education Department and Navy Office, Wellington, of their fitness in all respects.

Further particulars may be obtained from the Director of Education, Wellington.

In pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officer, at the address set against his name, is hereby appointed Transmitting and Receiving Officer for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

The following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Papatoetoe Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

PAPATOETOE TOWN DISTRICT.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Papatoetoe Town District was taken on Thursday, 8th April, 1926, on the proposals of the Board to borrow the following amounts, and the votes recorded for and against each proposal were as follows:

Proposal No. 1: Loan of £6,000 for road-improvements:—
Votes recorded for the proposal, 437; votes recorded against the proposal, 29 ; informal, 10.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Proposal No. 2: Loan of £550 for the purchase of band instruments:—
Votes recorded for the proposal, 331; votes recorded against the proposal, 133 ; informal, 12.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Proposal No. 3: Loan of £4,500 for the purchase of recreation and park areas:—
Votes recorded for the proposal, 250; votes recorded against the proposal, 206; informal, 20.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
