Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 23rd April, 1926.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the City of Auckland, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

CITY OF AUCKLAND.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Auckland was taken on the 14th day of April, 1926, on the proposals of the Auckland City Council to borrow the following amounts, and the number of votes recorded for and against the proposals were as follows :—

Proposal No. 1: Water-supply.—The provision of filtration plants at Nihotupu and Waitakere in connection with the Auckland City water-supply, £70,000.
Votes recorded for the proposal, 2,261; votes recorded against the proposal, 924; informal, 100.

Proposal No. 2.—The development, extension, and improvement of the waterworks of the City of Auckland and the acquisition of real and personal property therefor, £400,000.
Votes recorded for the proposal, 1,675; votes recorded against the proposal, 1,415; informal, 195.

I therefore declare that the foregoing proposals were carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Oroua, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

OROUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Oroua County was taken on the 4th day of December, 1925, on the proposal of the Council to borrow the sum of £16,800 for construction-works on main highways and purchase of the necessary machinery as set forth in the Schedule contained in the notice of intention to raise such loan.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 243; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 61.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Ellerslie Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD.

Loan of £7,000.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1903, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Ellerslie Town District taken on the 24th day of March, 1926, on the proposal of the Ellerslie Town Board to borrow the sum of £7,000 for the laying down in concrete, kerbing, channelling, forming footpaths along, and relaying the water-mains along, that portion of the Great South Road within the jurisdiction of the Ellerslie Town Board,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 224; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 121; the number of informal votes recorded was 12.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Loan of £5,000.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Ellerslie Town District taken on the 24th day of March, 1926, on the proposal of the Ellerslie Town Board to borrow the sum of £5,000 for the laying of water-mains and the laying and affixing of subsidiary pipes, turncocks, fire-plugs, and other fittings, and generally in the extension of waterworks within the Ellerslie Town District,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 231; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 116; the number of informal votes recorded was 10.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Loan of £3,750.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Ellerslie Town District taken on the 24th day of March, 1926, on the proposal of the Ellerslie Town Board to borrow the sum of £3,750 for the purchase of land and the erection thereon of municipal buildings for the accommodation of the Ellerslie Town Board, public library, and other municipal institutions, and the furnishing thereof,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 182; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 161; the number of informal votes recorded was 14.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
