Special Order passed by the Pohangina County Council declaring Foxglove to be a Noxious Weed.—Notice No. Ag. 25 7.

THE following special order made by the Pohangina County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act.

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, the Pohangina County Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) is a noxious weed within the County of Pohangina.
The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Pohangina County Council on 14th November, 1925, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council on 12th December, 1925.

to be the representative of persons for the time being engaged in business as manufacturers of dairy-produce, or as sellers of such produce out of New Zealand, on the New Zealand Dairy-produce Control Board as constituted under the Dairy-produce Export Control Act, 1923, vice James Ballantyne MacEwan resigned.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the City of Wanganui, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL.
I HEREBY publicly notify that at the poll taken on the 10th day of December, 1925, on the proposal of the Wanganui City Council to borrow the sum of £22,000 for the following purposes, namely: The making, constructing, and furnishing of mains for the supply of gas in the City of Wanganui, the extending of the existing gas-mains, the providing of additional mains, service pipes and meters, the purchase or acquisition of lands, plant, machinery, and appliances, the erection of buildings, plant, machinery, and appliances, and the making, supplying, and doing of all and every matter and thing incidental to, or connected with, or relating to all, every, or any of the purposes aforesaid, the following votes were recorded:—
For the proposal, 628; against the proposal, 398; informal, 3: majority, 230.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Newmarket, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF NEWMARKET.
IN accordance with the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Newmarket, taken on Thursday, the 10th day of December, 1925, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £12,000 for street-improvement purposes, as follows:—
(a.) The construction of approaches to the proposed railway overbridge in Victoria Crescent, including filling to formation levels, erection of retaining-walls, fencing, stormwater-drainage, and alterations to buildings .. £3,755
(b.) The paving in concrete of the portion of the approaches forming roadway, and the construction of footways thereon .. 2,800
(c.) Relaying water-mains in Arthur Street, Osborne Street, Canton Road, and Huntly Avenue .. 1,795
(d.) The acquisition of land at the following points for the purpose of effecting improvements in traffic conditions: (1) Corner of Khyber Pass and Crowhurst Street; (2) corner of Khyber Pass and Claremont Street; and (3) corner of Canton Road and Victoria Crescent .. 1,090
(e.) The purchase of a motor-driven street sweeping and cleansing machine .. 1,630
Engineering and contingencies .. 850
Total: £12,000
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 283, and the number recorded against the proposal was 62; informal 1.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Otahuhu, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

OTAHUHU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Otahuhu was taken on the 16th day of December, 1925, on the proposal of the Otahuhu Borough Council to borrow the sum of £20,000 for the following purposes:—
(a.) The sum of £7,500 for the installation of drainage in that part of the borough known as the Hokonui Estate.
(b.) The sum of £2,200, for the installation and completion of drainage in that part of the borough lying between Walmsley Road, Weka Street, and the Main Trunk Railway-line.
(c.) The sum of £3,300, for the purpose of making advances to owners and occupiers pursuant to section 228 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.
(d.) The sum of £7,000, for the purpose of providing the borough's proportion of the cost of the installation of drainage in the central portion of the borough, being that part thereof bounded by the Great South Road, Mangere Road, Walmsley Road, Clevedon Road, Station Road, and Avenue Road West.
