Situated eleven miles from Tahora Railway-station and school. Comprises high broken hilly country, light soil on sandstone formation. Approximately 100 acres has been felled and grassed, but has since gone back to fern; balance bush with fairly heavy undergrowth. Well watered by streams.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Waitomo County.—Tangitu Survey District.

Section 21, Block I: Area, 125 acres. Capital value, £500. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £12 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £10.

Weighted with £625, valuation for improvements; comprising dwelling, cow-shed, fencing, felling, and grassing. This amount is to be paid in cash on approval of application or taken over by way of a first mortgage to State Advances Department.

Access is from Waimiha Railway-station, which is about ten miles distant, by metalled road with the exception of about one mile which is formed dray-road, part clay and part pumice formation. About 25 acres standing bush, balance, originally heavy bush, has been felled and is in grass. Soil is of good quality resting on papa formation. Well watered by springs and streams. Altitude, 1,350 ft. to 1,500 ft.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Waitomo County.—Orahiri Survey District.

Section 12, Block XV: Area, 6 acres 3 roods 22 perches; upset price, £35.

Section adjoins the Te Kumi Railway-station, and is situated about two miles from Te Kuiti. Level to easy undulating; about half swamp and half dry land, in fern, gorse, and blackberry.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Waitomo County.—Te Kuiti Township.

Allotments 11 and 13, Block XI: Area, 1 acre 2 roods 26·8 perches; upset price, £720.

Weighted with £1,490, valuation for improvements, comprising wooden dwellings and offices, motor-shed, tennis-court, plantation, hedges, and baths; to be paid in cash.

Residential section fronting Awakino Road, about half a mile from the Te Kuiti Post-office.

Amending a Warrant setting apart Crown Land under Section 161 of the Land Act, 1924.


CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the sixteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-third day of that month, an area of fifteen acres thirty perches in Block X, Hohoura East Survey District, in the North Auckland Land District, was set apart for disposal under section one hundred and sixty-one of the Land Act, 1924:

And whereas an error was made in the description of the said area in the Schedule to the said Warrant, inasmuch as the land was described as being “Section 53, Block X, Hohoura East Survey District” instead of “Section 63, Block X, Hohoura East Survey District”; and whereas it is desirable that the error of description should be rectified:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby amend the Schedule to the said Warrant dated the sixteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, hereinafter referred to, by substituting the words “Section 63, Block X, Hohoura East Survey District,” for the words “Section 53, Block X, Hohoura East Survey District.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 9th day of February, 1926.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Town of Taupo, Auckland Land District.


CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for municipal purposes being a purpose within Class I of the Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and such land is not vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:

And whereas it is expedient that such land should be appropriated for hospital purposes, being a purpose within Class III of the said Second Schedule:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, be appropriated for hospital purposes under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 4 perches, more or less, being Section 1, Block X, Town of Taupo. Bounded towards the north-east by Paora Hape Street, 212·5 links; towards the south-east by Section 10 of the aforesaid block, 130·0 links; towards the south-west by Section 2 of the aforesaid Block, 212·5 links; and towards the north-west by Ruapehu Street, 130·0 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/8/26, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink.

Portion of Primary-education Endowment in Wellington Land District set apart as an Addition to a Site for a Public School.


CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserves or endowments:

And whereas the Land Board of the Wellington Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the portion of the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as an addition to a site for a public school, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the portion of the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto as an addition to a site for a public school.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 37·5 perches, more or less, being part of Section 101, Masterton Small Farms Settlement, and
