Renewable Lease.

TN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General
Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands
described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection
on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at the rentals
mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that
the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the pro-
visions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.-NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.-FIRST-
CLASS LAND.
Ohura County.-Waro Survey District.
SECTION 11, Block VII : Area, 86 acres 3 roods 28 perches;
capital value, £90; half-yearly rent, £1 16s.
Weighted with £150, valuation for improvements, consisting
of 50 acres felled and grassed and 50 chains of fencing, to be
paid for in cash.
Situated on the Tongaporutu Road. Access is from Ohura
fourteen miles distant by dray-road, of which about three
miles is metalled. Comprises undulating bush land chiefly
rimu, tawhero, and tawa, with a thick undergrowth of fern, &c.
Soil is of a light quality, resting on clay sandstone formation.
Well watered by permanent streams.
Waitomo County.-Mapara Survey District.
Section 9, Block VII : Area, 463 acres; capital value, £900;
half-yearly rent, £18.
Weighted with £595 10s., valuation for improvements, com-
prising 167 chains of fencing and 125 acres felling and grassing.
This amount is to be paid in cash on approval of application,
or, if the successful applicant so desires, £50 must be paid in
cash and the balance taken over by way of first mortgage
under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act.
Situated about eight miles from Kopaki Railway-station and
four miles from Aratoro School. With the exception of 50
acres in front portion, section comprises very flat to undulat-
ing land, a large area on back portion being well adapted to
dairying. Well watered by permanent streams.

Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the
Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one
hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open
for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and also that
the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option
of the applicant, be purchased for cash or be selected for
occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease;
and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands
shall be sold, occupied, or leased as mentioned in the said
Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be
sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions
of the Land Act, 1924.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Egmont County.-Cape Survey District.
SECTION 48, Block IX : Area, 97 acres 2 roods. Capital value,
£300. Occupation with right of purchase : Half-yearly
rent, £7 10s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £6.
Situated on the Newall Road, about three miles from the
Warearea School and Pungarehu Dairy Factory. Soil is of
fair quality, well watered. About 82 acres in fern and second
growth, balance bush.
Patea County.-Kapara Survey District.
Section 2, Block IV : Area, 382 acres. Capital value,
£765. Occupation with right of purchase : Half-yearly rent,
£19 2s. 6d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £15 6s.
Situated on the Puraroto Road about thirty-five miles from
Waitotara Railway-station. Good road to within four miles
of the section, balance has been formed to full width. Section
comprises about 140 acres in bush, balance (namely, 242
acres) has been felled and in grass. Well watered by running
streams. Altitude, about 500 ft. above sea-level.
Section 1, Block IV : Area, 745 acres. Capital value,
£500. Occupation with right of purchase : Half-yearly
rent, £12 10s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £10.
Weighted with £275, valuation for improvements, consisting
of unfinished four-roomed cottage and 100 acres felling and
grassing, to be paid for in cash.
Situated on the Puraroto Road, thirty-five miles from
Waitotara Railway-station. Access is from Waitotara by
good road to within four miles of section. Remainder by
formed road which is only passable for horse traffic. Section
is broken and steep, comprising 620 acres of bush, chiefly
tawa, henau, and scattered birch. Soil is of a good quality.
Well watered by streams.
Whangamomona County.-Mahoe Survey District.
Sub. 2 of Section 6, Block XI : Area, 520 acres 1 rood
33 perches. Capital value, £410. Occupation with right of
purchase: Half-yearly rent, £10 5s. Renewable lease:
Half-yearly rent, £8 4s.
Situated about fourteen miles from Whangamomona on
the Round Hill Road. Access is from Whangamomona by
formed road, six miles of which has been metalled. Section
comprises about 100 acres of flat and easy country carrying
good soil on the eastern boundary, the remainder being rough
and broken. Soil is of a fair to good loam resting on papa
and sandstone formation. Well watered by permanent
streams.
Waitomo County.-Mokau Survey District.
Section 1, Block I : Area, 600 acres. Capital value, £2,200.
Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £55.
Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £44.
Situated on the Wairomo Road about seven miles from
Aria by good road. Area comprises 125 acres good river-
flats, balance hilly, of fair to good quality. About 150 acres
have been felled and grassed. Well watered. There is a
four-roomed dwelling on the section, and this, together
with 100 chains of fencing, is included in the capital value of
the section.
Ohura County.-Aria Survey District.
Section 24, Block XIV : Area, 727 acres. Capital value,
£1,000. Occupation with right of purchase : half-yearly
rent, £25. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £20.
Weighted with £1,080, valuation for improvements, con-
sisting of four-roomed cottage, cow shed and yard, 360 acres
felled and grassed, and 200 chains of fencing. This amount
is to be paid in cash on approval of application or taken over
by way of first mortgage to State Advances Department.
Situated on the Rimu Road. Access is from Niho Niho,
two miles distant by good dray road, one mile of which has
been metalled. Comprises hilly to steep country about half
of which is in standing bush. Remainder has been felled and
grassed. Soil is of fair to good quality resting on papa and
sandstone formation. Well watered by permanent streams.
Waitomo County.-Aria Survey District.
Sections 26 and 2, Block II : Area, 657 acres 1 rood 18
perches. Capital value, £1,150. Occupation with right of
purchase: Half-yearly rent, £28 15s. Renewable lease:
Half-yearly rent, £23.
Weighted with £535, valuation for improvements, con-
sisting of five-roomed house, cow shed and yards, 120 chains
fencing, 60 acres in good pasture, and 40 acres in worn-out
pasture. This amount is to be paid in cash on approval of
application or taken over by way of a first mortgage to the
State Advances Department.
Situated twenty-eight miles from Te Kuiti Railway-station
and four miles from Aria School and dairy factory, and com-
prises 40 acres bush land, the balance of the section including
over 100 acres of good raupo swamp and a large area of easy
ploughable country. Well watered by creeks and streams.
Whangamomona County.-Pouatu Survey District.
Section 4, Block I : Area, 545 acres. Capital value, £275.
Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent,
£6 17s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 10s.
