Situated in Maruia Valley, about twelve miles and a half
from Murchison via Maruia Valley or seven miles via Dough-
boy track. Property adjoins school and is one mile from
telephone-office. Good metalled road. About 40 acres flat,
balance hilly. Well watered.
Section 8, Block XII: Area, 1,051 acres; capital value,
£395; half-yearly rent, £7 18s.
Weighted with £1,010, valuation for improvements and the
freehold of Section 13, Block XII, Maruia Survey District
(area, 29 acres 1 rood 19 perches). This amount is payable
in cash or by deferred payments. If purchased on deferred
payments, a cash deposit of £50 is required immediately;
an applicant is declared successful and the balance of pur-
chase-money would be secured by instalment mortgage
extending over a period not exceeding thirty-six years and
a half, bearing interest at 5 per cent. in the case of a dis-
charged soldier, and 5½ per cent. in every other case. Im-
provements consist of five-roomed dwelling, milking-shed,
and 225 acres felled and grassed, and subdivided into five
paddocks.

Situated sixteen miles from Murchison, in the Maruia

Section 6, Block XV: Area, 419 acres; capital value,
£250; half-yearly rent, £5.
Weighted with £650, valuation for improvements, consist-
ing of approximately 136 acres of bush land felled and
grassed; 70 chains of fencing, subdividing into four paddocks;
also small whare, 12 ft. by 15 ft., in good condition. Payable
in cash or by deferred payments. Deposit required on de-
ferred payment £50. Balance on mortgage for a term not
exceeding thirty-six years and a half and bearing 5 per cent.

half-yearly rent, £20.
Weighted with £350, valuation for improvements, con-
sisting of approximately 400 acres of felling and grassing
(becoming overgrown with fern) and 20 chains of boundary-
fencing.
Situated in Maruia Valley about twenty-four miles from
Murchison by nineteen miles of metalled road, three miles
unmetalled, thence across Maruia River, and one mile of
pack-track, balance rough unformed track. About five miles
and a half from household school and telephone-office. Small
flats along creek, but mostly hilly country. With exception
of felled portion sections are in heavy bush, consisting
principally of birch. Soil of good quality on flats and fair
on hillside. Well watered. Altitude, 750 ft. to 2,400 ft.
above sea-level.
National Endowment.—Murchison County.—Maruia Survey
District.
Sections 4 and part 3, Block XV: Area, 1,662 acres;
capital value, £835; half-yearly rent, £16 14s.
Weighted with £360, valuation for improvements, consist-
ing of 390 acres felled and grassed and 50 chains of fencing.
The successful applicant for this section may arrange with
the State Advances Office to take over their mortgage of
approximately £350, balance of improvement-money payable
in cash.
Situated in Maruia Valley about twenty-two miles from
Murchison, opposite telephone-office, and three miles and a
half from school. Access from Murchison by formed road,
thence across Maruia River. There is also access up the
west bank of the Maruia River. About 390 acres have been
felled and grassed, but are now going back to fern. About
140 acres of recent felling and grassing is still in good con-
dition. Balance of section is in standing bush. Small flats
along creek. Soil fair to good on flats, poor to fair on hill-
side. Altitude, 700 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level. General
quality fair.
Section 18, Block XII: Area, 905 acres; capital value,
£450; half-yearly rent, £9.
Weighted with £31, valuation for improvements, consisting
of clearing, grassing, and stumping 2 acres, and fencing.
Situated in Pea Soup Creek in Maruia Valley, eighteen
miles from Murchison, three miles and a half from telephone-
office, and one mile from household school. Access by
formed and metalled road. About 280 acres have been felled
and grassed but are now bad with fern, balance is in heavy
bush. About 35 acres flat, balance hillside. Soil fair to
good on flats, fair on hillsides, resting on limestone and
sandstone formation. Altitude, 650 ft. to 2,000 ft. above
sea-level.
NOTE.—The freehold Section 19 adjoining contains a good
dwelling and has been used as the homestead for this property.
It is at present vacant, and no doubt suitable arrangements
can be made with the owner to take it over.
Murchison County.—Burnett Survey District.
Sections 2 (National Endowment) and 7 (Crown land),
Block III; Area, 1,818 acres 1 rood; capital value, £955;
half-yearly rent, £19 2s.
Weighted with £635, valuation for improvements, consist-
ing of felling and grassing 420 acres, 80 chains of fencing,
and four-roomed dwelling in good condition. Arrangements
may be made with the Superintendent, State Advances
Office, to take over their mortgage over these improvements.
Situated in mid Maruia Valley, about twenty-three miles
and a half from Murchison, two miles from telephone-office,
and five miles from household school. Access by nineteen
miles and a half of formed and metalled road and four miles
formed but not metalled, thence across Maruia River by ford.
About 420 acres has been felled and grassed, 150 acres is in
fair pasture, balance becoming overgrown with fern. About
160 acres of flat land, remainder hillside. Soil fair to good
on flats, fair on hillside. Forest of heavy birch with few
pines. Well watered. Altitude, 700 ft. to 2,400 ft. above
sea-level.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the
Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles
Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands
described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on
renewable lease on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at the rentals men-
tioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the
said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions
of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.—Motutara Settlement.
Section 9s: Area, 121 acres 3 roods 32 perches; capital
value, £2,150. Half-yearly rent, £53 15s.
Situated near Muriwai Beach, with good formed access to
Waimauku Railway-station.
Section is undulating to easy-sloping land, with the ex-
ception of 20 acres of steep country. Practically all in grass
and is well watered by swampy streams. Ring-fenced all
around, except adjoining Section 5s. Divided into four
paddocks by natural boundaries. Buildings include good
dwelling-house and cow-shed. Suitable for dairying.

Franklin County.—Puni Settlement.
Section 15s: Area, 125 acres 3 roods 33 perches; capital
value, £1,100; half-yearly rent, £27 10s.
Section situated seven miles from Pukekohe Railway-
station and three miles from Puni School. Soil is semi-
volcanic on clay, and land is watered by springs. About
12 acres has been cleared and grassed, but is now going back
into fern and blackberry. There is also 7 acres of rich swamp
