Conferring on Hawke's Bay County Council Powers of Borough Councils with respect to Drainage and Sanitation.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of February, 1926.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. CoATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is enacted by the Counties Act, 1920, that the Governor-General may by Order in Council confer on any County Council such of the powers of Borough Councils with respect to drainage and sanitation as he thinks fit, and with such restrictions, modifications, and conditions as he thinks fit, and thereupon that County Council shall have and may exercise the said powers accordingly pursuant to the tenor of the said Order in Council:
And whereas it is expedient to confer upon the Hawke's Bay County Council certain of the said powers of Borough Councils:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him in that behalf by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby confer on the said Hawke's Bay County Council all the powers with respect to drainage and sanitation exercisable by a duly constituted Borough Council under Part XXII of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.

Declaring Portion of the Wanganui River Road (Left Bank), in the Wanganui County, to be a County Road.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road in the Wellington Land District, Wanganui County, known as the Wanganui River Road (left bank), commencing at a point 5 chains north of the boundary between Patapu and Omaru No. 2B Blocks, Block XI, Waipakura Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction adjoining or passing through part of the said Patupa Block, Pungarehu Block, again part of the said Patupa Block, and part of Pukekowhai No. 3 Block, Block XI, Waipakura Survey District, and terminating at a point about 10 chains north of the boundary between the said Patupa Block and the said Pukekowhai Block No. 3; being a distance of 67 chains, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 65211, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring a Public Highway in the No. 18 Highway District to be a Main Highway.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him
in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that on and after the date of gazetting of this Order in Council the public highway mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be a main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.
SCHEDULE.
WILLOWBANK-Waikaka : All that portion of road known as the Willowbank-Waikaka Road, commencing at its junction of the McNab-Edievale Highway at Willowbank, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction, and terminating at Waikaka, passing through the County of Southland; being a distance of 9 miles 40 chains, more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 41, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

McNAB-Edievale : All that portion of road known as the McNab-Edievale Road commencing at the western boundary of the Clutha County and proceeding thence generally in an easterly and north-easterly direction via Waikoikoi, Pomahaka, and Tapanui, and terminating at its junction with the Raeβs Junction-Edievale Main Highway at the post-office, Edievale, passing through the Counties of Clutha and Tuapeka; being a distance of 29 miles 28 chains, more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 40, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
