Section 3416, Block V: Area, 109 acres 0 roods 20 perches; capital value, £100; half-yearly rent, £2.
Comprises heavy bush, consisting of kamahi, konini, miro, &c., from which timber of commercial value has been removed;
dense undergrowth of supplejack, ponga, &c. Area slopes gently alongside Grey Valley-Taramakau Road, but remainder
is very steep and broken. Soil is of fair quality, sandy in nature, and stony in places, and resting on rock formation.
Well watered by creeks. Access seven miles from Kotuku Railway-station by good metalled dray-road for three miles,
and by formed pack-track for four miles.

Section 3417, Block V: Area, 207 acres 2 roods; capital value, £180; half-yearly rent, £3 12s.
Comprises 20 acres fern and scrub land, balance heavy bush, consisting of kamahi, rata, miro, &c., from which
timber of commercial value has been removed, with a dense undergrowth of supplejacks and mixed scrub. A few acres
of flat land lies along side Grey Valley-Taramakau Road, but remainder rough and broken. Soil is of fair quality,
sandy in nature, resting on gravel and rock. Well watered by creeks. Altitude, 480 ft. to 1,020 ft. above sea-level.
Access seven miles from Kotuku Railway-station and Post-office by good metalled dray-road for three miles and by
four miles of formed pack-track.

Land set apart as Provisional State Forest declared to be subject to the Land Act, 1924.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Forests
Act, 1921–22, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
on the recommendation of the Minister of Lands, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto, being portion of a provisional State forest set apart by Proclamation dated the twenty-ninth day of April, one
thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and gazetted on the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen,
is required for settlement purposes; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such land shall, from and
after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest, and shall become subject to the provisions of
the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing 297 acres, more or less, being part of Provisional State Forest
Reserve No. 1683, situated in Block III, Karangarua Survey District. Bounded towards the south generally by the
southern boundary of Section 752 and by this boundary produced to the right bank of the Ohinetamatea River;
thence by the right bank of the Ohinetamatea River, a distance of 4500 links; thence by lines running 278° for a
distance of 1900 links, 295° 9' 30" for a distance of 3928·7 links, 264° 49' 30" for a distance of 1285·3 links, and 279° 50'
for a distance of 640·1 links; thence towards the west by the Main South Road, 1653·3 links, and towards the north generally
by the northern boundary of Stock Reserve No. 768 and the northern boundary of Provisional State Forest Reserve No.
1683. As the same is delineated on plan marked L. and S. X/98/4A deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

Bounded on the east, north, and west by a public road, a total distance of 1359·5 links, and on the south side by the aforesaid National-endowment Provisional State Forest No. 130, a total distance of 1182·5 links; be the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 16/1311, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 23rd day of December, 1925.

Proclaiming a Road-line laid out through Porangahau 1b 4m and 1b 4k Blocks to be a Public Road.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by an order of the Native Land Court made on the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, duly laid out as a road-line, in pursuance of section one hundred and seventeen of the Native Land Act, 1909:

And whereas by section two of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1918, it is provided that where any road-line has heretofore been laid out under the said section one hundred and seventeen and has not been proclaimed as a public road, then such road-line may be proclaimed as a public road under section forty-eight of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, subject, however, to the conditions prescribed by section fifty-one of the last-mentioned Act and section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914:

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands, in terms of section fifty-one of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913:

And whereas one month's notice in writing of the intention to proclaim the said road-line as a public road has been given by the Surveyor-General to the local authority of the district concerned, in terms of section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914:

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-eight of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road-line described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road: 5 acres 1 rood 31 perches.
Portion of Porangahau 1B 4M and 1B 4K Blocks, Block III, Tautane Survey District.
