termed “the said Act”), fixing rates and charges for telephones
and switching-facilities for intercommunication in the same
premises:
And whereas it is expedient to amend such rates and charges
in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act,
and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling
him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke
regulation numbered 80, in the Schedule of the above-recited
Order in Council, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the
regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth declare
that the regulation hereby made shall form part of the
general telephone regulations made by Order in Council
dated the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-three; and shall come into force on and
after the date of publication of this Order in Council in the
New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
80. (1.) EXCEPT as provided in Regulation 83, telephones
and switching-facilities for providing means of intercommuni-
cation between various positions in the same premises shall
be furnished and maintained at the following annual rates
for each intercommunicating extension station:-
(a.) Automatic private branch exchange extension £ s. d.
stations ... ... ... ... ... 3 5 0
(b.) Manual private branch exchange extension
stations ... ... ... ... ... 2 15 0
(c.) Extension stations wired for intercommunica-
tion, but not associated with a private
branch exchange switchboard ... ... 2 15 0
(d.) ‘‘Interphone’’ sets, for each position at which
such sets are installed ... ... ... 2 15 0
(2.) Automatic private branch exchange ‘‘direct in-calling’’
service shall be available to subscribers renting a minimum
of six trunk lines to the same premises at the schedule rates.
The charge for each ‘‘direct in-calling’’ extension station
to any number not exceeding the number of trunk lines rented
shall be £3 5s. per annum. Any ‘‘direct in-calling’’ extension
station in excess of the number of trunk lines rented shall
be charged at the rate of £5 5s. per annum.
(3.) The rates specified in subsections (1) and (2) hereof
as well as those prescribed in Regulation 83 apply to wall-
telephones; desk telephones shall be 5s. per annum extra.

Extending Time for holding Election of Trustees for Orahiri
Drainage District.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day
of December, 1925.

THE HONOURABLE J. G. COATES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section ten of the Land Drainage Act,
1908, it is provided that on the first Monday in the
month of November in the year following the year in which
the first trustees for any drainage district are elected, and
on the same day in each succeeding third year thereafter, an
election of trustees for each district shall be held:
And whereas an election of trustees for the Orahiri
Drainage District should have been held on the second day of
November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding
such election of trustees for the Orahiri Drainage District:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in him by section twenty-two of the Land
Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the afore-
said election of trustees for the Orahiri Drainage District;
and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid
drainage district the said election shall be held and take
place on Friday, the twenty-ninth day of January, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-six.

WHEREAS Matthew Joseph Mack, of Wellington, is
exclusively engaged as General Secretary of the
Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants:
And whereas prior to being engaged as aforesaid the said
Matthew Joseph Mack was in the service of the New Zealand
Government Railways Department and in respect of such
service was a contributor to the Government Railways
Superannuation Fund:
And whereas the period of engagement of the said Matthew
Joseph Mack as General Secretary of the said society has
been continuous with his aforementioned period of service
in the Government Railways Department:
And whereas the rate of contribution paid by the said
Matthew Joseph Mack to the Government Railways Superan-
nuation Fund when a contributor thereto in respect of his
aforesaid period of service in the Department was five per
cent. of the salary or wages then received by him:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority conferred on him by section
thirty-three of the Finance Act, 1925, and of every other
power and authority enabling him in that behalf, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare and order that
from and including the first day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-five, the said Matthew Joseph
Mack shall have and be deemed to have had all the rights,
privileges, and liabilities to which a contributor to the
Government Railways Superannuation Fund is entitled or
subject under the provisions of Part III of the Government
Railways Act, 1908, subject, however, to the provisions of
section thirty-three of the Finance Act, 1925, and to the
following express conditions namely:-

  1. The said Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants
    shall forthwith pay to the Government Railways Super-
    annuation Fund the sum of eight hundred and eighty-seven
    pounds five shillings and sixpence.
  2. The contribution of the said Matthew Joseph Mack
    to the Government Railways Superannuation Fund shall be
    at the rate of five per centum of the salary paid to him by
    the said Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants; and
    such contribution shall, as from the first day of December,
