penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Tauranga; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and the Manawatu Gorge Road and Bridge Act, 1919, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £2,088, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying the Palmer-ston North Borough Council's proportion of the estimated expenditure of the Manawatu Gorge Board of Control for the financial year ending the 31st March, 1926, the said Palmer-ston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years--that is to say, until the first day of November, 1935, or until the loan is fully paid off.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.--GISBORNE BOROUGH STREETS-CONSTRUCTION AND MACHINERY LOAN, 1926, OF £37,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £37,500, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for-

(a.) Permanent roads, streets, and footpaths construction and improvements ... 30,000
(b.) For the purchase of road plant and machinery 7,500

£37,500

the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 19/64ths of 1d. in the pound upon the rate-able value of all rateable property of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 15th October, 1925, No. 71; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the shareholders of the above-named company will be held at the Foresters Hall, George Street, Timaru, on Friday, the 18th day of December, 1925, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of laying the Liquidators' accounts before such meeting, showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of offering any explanation in relation thereto.

WHEREAS I am desirous of abandoning the name "Florence Mary Wilton Smith" and of assuming the name of "Florence Mary Wilton : And whereas I am desirous of placing upon record such abandonment and assumption of name : Now, know ye, and these presents witness, that I, the said FLORENCE MARY WILTON SMITH, do hereby assume and take the name of "Florence Mary Wilton," and do hereby absolutely relinquish and abandon the name "Florence Mary Wilton Smith" to the end and intent that on all legal documents and for all purposes whatsoever I shall hereafter be known and designated by the name of "Florence Mary Wilton" in lieu and stead of the name "Florence Mary Wilton Smith."

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-men-tioned company duly convened and held at Auckland on the 16th day of November, 1925, the following special resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said company also duly convened and held at the same place on the 7th day of December, 1925, the following special resolution was duly confirmed, viz:--

"That with a view to reconstruction the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908."

A further resolution was duly passed on the 16th day of November, 1925, and duly confirmed on the 7th day of December, 1925, appointing THOMAS GEORGE DE RENZY, of Auckland, Company Director, and JAMES LEUCHARS, of Wellington, Company Director, as the Liquidators for such winding-up.
