TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Tauranga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Tauranga Borough Footpaths Loan of £820, 1925, authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming, channelling, and coating with bitumen, tar, sand, metal, or screenings, footpaths on one side of the following streets—namely, Willow Street from Harrington Street to Brown Street, Brown Street from Willow Street to Cliff Road, Cliff Road from Brown Street to the Public Works Road leading to the railway-station, and to make storm-water drains down such streets, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-sixth (1/26th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Tauranga; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION INCREASING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Tauranga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of eight hundred and twenty pounds (£820), authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming, channelling, and coating with bitumen, tar, sand, metal, or screenings, footpaths on one side of the following streets—namely, Willow Street from Harrington Street to Brown Street, Brown Street from Willow Street to Cliff Road, Cliff Road from Brown Street to Public Works Road leading to the railway-station, and to make storm-water drains down such streets, the said Council pursuant to section 22 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby increases to one twenty-first (1/21st) of a penny in the pound sterling the special rate of one twenty-sixth (1/26th) of a penny in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 24th day of November, 1925, on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Tauranga; such rate of one twenty-sixth (1/26th) of a penny in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan; and that such special rate as increased shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such a loan, being period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Tauranga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges of the Tauranga Borough Hydro-electric Works Supplementary Loan of £7,500, 1925, being part 10 per cent. additional to a loan of £90,000, authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of installing hydro-electric works at McLaren’s Falls, Wairoa River, for generating and distributing electric current in the Council’s licenses area, or to such other point as may be permitted by the Minister for Public Works, and purchasing and acquiring the necessary land, sites, access roads, right-of-ways, and other easements and constructing any such roads, right-of-ways, and means of access, and purchasing and erecting and constructing staff cottages, the necessary machinery, plant, dam, spillway, dams, races, tunnels, pipe-lines, power-station, sub-stations, transformers, poles, transmission-lines, plant, and equipment necessary for the aforesaid purpose, and providing and paying compensation for any lands taken or injuriously affected by the aforesaid works (such latter amount being insufficient to complete the works for which the loan was raised), the said Tauranga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths (³⁄₈) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Tauranga; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Forming, grading, metalling, asphalting, bitumenizing, kerbing, and channelling the streets and footpaths of the borough as mentioned in the voting-paper used at the said poll of the ratepayers
