Mangakewa Special-rating Area, in the County of Waitomo,
was taken on the 30th day of October, 1925, on the proposal
of the Waitomo County Council to borrow the sum of £2,400
for the purpose of reforming, widening, culverting, and
metalling portion of the Mangakewa Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 16;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

City of Dunedin, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, public notice is hereby given that a proposal to borrow
the sum of £150,000 for enlarging and extending the gasworks
undertaking owned and managed by the Dunedin City Council
was duly submitted to the electors on Tuesday, 1st December,
1925, when the voting was as follows:
For the proposal, 626; against the proposal, 586.
And I have therefore to declare the proposal to be carried.

Board of the Freshfield Drainage District, is published
in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913.

FRESHFIELD DRAINAGE BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Fresh-
field Drainage District was taken on the 13th day of October,
1925, on the proposal of the Freshfield Drainage Board to
borrow the sum of £1,200 for deepening, widening, deviating,
and improving drains in the Freshfield Drainage District,
known as the Lake Drain, the Flax-mill Drain, and Peach's
Drain, including the cost of all labour, materials, plans, and
supervision, and to pay out of the loan the cost of raising
the loan and the first year's interest and sinking fund.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 43;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 13.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for A. B. Sheldon,

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand
having reasonable ground for supposing that the persons whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of either of the said persons shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to either of the said persons (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to either of the addressees in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.
