Special Order made by the Waimarino County Council altering Riding Boundaries and adjusting Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Waimarino County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.

Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 31st day of March, 1926, as the date from which the special order shall take effect.

WAIMARINO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order altering Boundaries of Ridings and adjusting Representation.

THAT in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sections 23, 59, and 60 of the Counties Act, 1920, and any amendment of the said Act, and of every other power in that behalf enabling, the Waimarino County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

  1. That the present subdivision of the said County of Waimarino into seven ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into seven ridings, to be called Ruatiti Riding, Manganui Riding, Horopito Riding, Huikumu Riding, Parapara Riding, Ohakune Riding, and Karioi Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto attached.

  2. That the said Waimarino County Council shall consist of seven members, who shall be elected as follows : The electors of the Ruatiti Riding, Manganui Riding, Horopito Riding, Huikumu Riding, Parapara Riding, Ohakune Riding, and Karioi Riding shall each elect one Councillor.

SCHEDULE.

Ruatiti Riding.—Commencing at a point where the northern boundary of the Waimarino County joins the Wanganui River, thence generally east by the said northern boundary of the Waimarino County to the south-eastern corner of Section 3, Block VI, Manganui Survey District; thence south-west along the northern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5, 14, 13, 12, 23, 22, and 20, Block X, Manganui Survey District, and the south-western boundary of the said Section 20, Block X, Manganui Survey District, to the Manganui-a-te-Ao River ; thence generally south by the Manganui-a-te-Ao and Orautoha Streams to a point opposite the southern boundary of Section 7, Block XIII, Manganui Survey District ; thence generally west to and by the south boundaries of Sections 7 and 6 and the east boundary of Section 5, Block XIII, Manganui Survey District, and the south and west boundaries of Waimarino Reserve No. 3 Subdivision J to the northern boundary of the said Waimarino Reserve No. 3 Subdivision J ; thence generally west by the north boundary of Waimarino Reserve No. 3 Subdivisions H, G, F, and Sections 9, 8, and 7 Block XV, Whirinaki Survey District, being portion of Wanganui River Trust Endowment, and by Waimarino 5B No. 6 and Waimarino 5B No. 7 to the Wanganui River ; thence generally north by the Wanganui River to the point of commencement.

Horopito Riding.—Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 6, Block X, Manganui Survey District, thence north-east by the northern boundaries of Sections 6 and 7, Block X, Manganui Survey District, to the northern boundary of the Waimarino County; thence generally east by the northern boundary of the Waimarino County to the Ruapehu Trig. in Block XI, Ruapehu Survey District ; thence generally south-west by the southern boundaries of Urewera IA, IB, IC No. 3, and Raetihi 5A to the south-western boundary of Raetihi 5B No. 1 ; thence south-east by the south-western boundaries of Raetihi 5B No. 1, 5B No. 2, 5B No. 3, to the northern boundary of the Borough of Ohakune ; thence generally west by the northern and north-western boundaries of the Borough of Ohakune to the Mangawhero River ; thence west by the Mangawhero River to the eastern boundary of Lot 11 on D.P. 3802, part of Raetihi 3B No. 2, Block IV, Makotuku Survey District; thence north-west and south-west by the eastern and northern boundaries of the said Lot 11 to the eastern boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 3713, part of Raetihi 3B No. 2 ; thence generally north-west by the eastern boundary of the said Lot 1, and the eastern and southern boundaries of Raetihi 3A to the Mangarewa Road ; thence north-east by the Mangarewa Road to a point opposite the western boundary of P.E.R. 15, Block III, Makotuku Survey District ; thence generally north-west to and by the western boundaries of Sections P.E.R. 15 and P.E.R. 29, Block III, Makotuku Survey District, 28, 12, 15, 11, 19, Block XV, Manganui Survey District, and Section 2, Block XI, Manganui

Survey District, to the northern side of the Mangaturuturu Road ; thence generally east by the Mangaturuturu Road to the south-west corner of Section 23, Block XI, Manganui Survey District ; thence generally north-west by the western boundary of Section 23, Block XI, Manganui Survey District, and south-west by the southern boundary of Section 3, Block X, Manganui Survey District, to the Manganui-a-te-Ao River ; thence north-east by the Manganui-a-te-Ao River to the eastern boundary of Section 5 P.E.R., Block X, Manganui Survey District ; thence south-west and north-west by the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section P.E.R. 5, Block X, Manganui Survey District, to the point of commencement.

Manganui Riding.—Commencing at a point where the southern boundary of the Ruatiti Riding, as hereinbefore described, joins the Wanganui River, thence generally east by the southern boundary of the Ruatiti Riding as aforesaid to the western boundary of the Horopito Riding as hereinbefore described ; thence south-east by the said western boundary of the Horopito Riding as aforesaid to the western boundary of Raetihi 3A, Block III, Makotuku Survey District ; thence south-west by the Mangarewa Road to the eastern boundary of Raetihi 2B 3B Block VII, Makotuku Survey District ; thence south-east, south-west, and north-west by the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of the said Raetihi 2B 3B, Block VII, Makotuku Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Ngapakihi 1z 2 ; thence south-east and south by the boundaries of Ngapakihi 1z 2 and Ngapakihi No. 1x to the boundary of the Borough of Raetihi ; thence generally west by the northern boundary of the Borough of Raetihi to the eastern boundary of Section 26, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District; thence north by the eastern boundaries of Sections 26, 27, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District, and west by the north boundaries of Section 27, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District, and 21, Block II, Makotuku Survey District, to the Ameku Ridge Road ; thence north-west by the Ameku Ridge Road and the Tokitokirau Road to the eastern boundary of Waimarino Reserve A, Section 13D ; thence generally south and west by the east and south boundaries of the said Waimarino Reserve A, Section 13D, and the south boundary of Waimarino Reserve A, Section 13A to the southern boundary of Waimarino Reserve No. 3 ; thence south-west by the south boundary of Waimarino Reserve No. 3 to the eastern boundary of Waimarino Reserve No. 3N 2A ; thence north-west by the eastern boundary of Waimarino Reserve No. 3N 2A to the Manganui-o-te-Ao River ; thence generally west by the Manganui-o-te-Ao River to the Wanganui River ; thence generally north by the Wanganui River to the point of commencement.

Huikumu Riding.—Commencing at the junction of the Manganui-o-te-Ao and Wanganui Rivers, being the southern boundary of the Manganui Riding ; thence generally east by the southern boundary of the Manganui Riding as aforesaid to the northern boundary of the Borough of Raetihi ; thence west and generally south by the northern and western boundaries of the Borough of Raetihi to the north-west corner of Section 23, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District ; thence south by the western boundaries of Sections 23, 24, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District, and the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of Section 5, Block X, Makotuku Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Mairekura Block Subdivision L ; thence south by the eastern boundaries of Mairekura Block Subdivisions L, K, G, to the northern boundary of Section 11, Block X, Makotuku Survey District ; thence west and generally south by the north, west, and south boundaries of Section 11, Block X, Makotuku Survey District, and the west boundaries of Section 4, Block XIV, Makotuku Survey District, and Papahaua Block Subdivisions 4B, 3, 2, and 1, to the south boundary of the Waimarino County ; thence generally west by the south boundary of the Waimarino County to the Wanganui River ; thence generally north by the Wanganui River to the point of commencement.

Parapara Riding.—Commencing at a point where the north-western corner of Section 23, Block VI, Makotuku Survey District, joins the boundary of the Borough of Raetihi ; thence east by the southern boundary of the Borough of Raetihi to the Makotuku Stream ; thence south by the Makotuku Stream and the Mangawhero River to the southern boundary of Otiranui 1E ; thence east by the south boundary of Otiranui 1E and Section 3, Block XI, Makotuku Survey District, to the Otiranui Road ; thence south by the Otiranui Road to the northern boundary of Section 1, Block XVI, Makotuku Survey District ; thence east and south by the north and east boundaries of Section 1, Block XVI, Makotuku Survey District, to the Oruakukuru-Karioi Road ; thence west by the Oruakukuru-Karioi Road and south by the Junction Road to the northern boundary of Section 9, Block XVI, Makotuku Survey District ; thence east, south, and west by the northern, eastern, and
