Result of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 6th October, 1925.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Matamata Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

MATAMATA TOWN DISTRICT.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Matamata taken on the 4th day of September, 1925, on the proposal of the Matamata Town Board to borrow the sums of (a) £1,000 for installation of sewer connections, and (b) £900 for purchase of sanitary site,—

The number of votes recorded for proposal (a) was 40; the number of votes recorded against proposal (a) was 19; informal, 1. The number of votes recorded for proposal (b) was 41; the number of votes recorded against proposal (b) was 18; informal, 1.

I therefore declare that both the proposals were carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Hutt, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the No. 22 Special-rating Area (Township of Plimmerton), being part of the Horokiwi Riding, County of Hutt, taken on the 23rd day of September, 1925, on the proposal of the Hutt County Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of erecting a public hall and conveniences upon the land in the certificate of title, Volume 312, folio 17, Wellington Register.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 50; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 35.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

New Zealand Inscribed Stock Act, 1917.—Closing of Registers.

NOTICE is hereby given that the register of New Zealand 4½-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 15th November, 1938, and the register of New Zealand 5-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 15th November, 1927, will be closed from the 1st November to the 15th November, 1925, inclusive, for the purpose of the issue of half-yearly interest.

Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-order and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for L. E. Morton and N.Z. Sweep Promoters, Wellington.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person and firm whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order for the said person or firm shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person or firm (either by their own or any fictitious or assumed names), or addressed to Post-office Box 22, Wellington South, without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-order and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for Mr. C. P. Earle, 19, Bligh Street, Sydney.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

I, Sir DUDLEY RAWSON STRATFORD DE CHAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales and its Dependencies, in the Commonwealth of Australia, being satisfied that reciprocal provisions have been made by the Legislature of New Zealand for the enforcement within that part of His Majesty's dominions of judgments obtained in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, do, by this my Proclamation, declare that Part II of the Administration of Justice Act, 1924, shall apply with respect to New Zealand.
