Declaring Public Highways in Highway Districts enumerated hereunder to be Main Highways.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of September, 1925.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that on and after the date of gazetting of this Order in Council the public highways mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be main highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.
SCHEDULE.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 1.
TAUHOA-Kaipara Flats: All that road known as the Tauhoa-Kaipara Flats Road, commencing at its junction with the Port Albert – Helensville Road and proceeding thence generally in an easterly and south-easterly direction via Hoteo, and terminating at a point where it meets the Warkworth-Kaipara Flats Main Highway at the Kaipara Flats Railway-station, passing through the County of Rodney; being a distance of 7 miles 40 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 45, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 2.
Te Awamutu – Pirongia: All that road known as the Te Awamutu – Pirongia Road, commencing at the western boundary of the Borough of Te Awamutu and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly, westerly, and south-westerly direction through Blocks II and I, Puniu Survey District, and Block IV, Pirongia Survey District, and terminating at its junction with Franklin Street, Pirongia Township, adjacent to the Pirongia Post-office, passing through the County of Waipa; being a distance of 6 miles 34 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 49, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 3.
Tauranga-Waihi: All that road known as the Tauranga-Waihi Road, commencing at the western boundary of the Borough of Tauranga and proceeding thence generally in a westerly and north-westerly direction via Katikati and Athenree, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Borough of Waihi, passing through the Counties of Tauranga and Ohinemuri; being a distance of 39 miles 40 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 30, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 4.
Tuatini Township – Tokomaru Bay Wharf: All that portion of the road known as the Tuatini Township – Tokomaru Bay Wharf Road, commencing at its junction with the Gisborne-Opotiki (via the Coast) Main Highway at Tuatini Township, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction, and terminating at the Tokomaru Bay Wharf, passing through the County of Waiapu, being a distance of 2 miles 20 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 22, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 6.
Piopio to Tatu (via Aria and Ohura): All that portion of the road known as the Piopio to Tatu Road (via Aria and Ohura), commencing at its junction with the Auckland-Wellington (via Taranaki) Main Highway at Piopio, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Wairere, Ohura, Makau, Paro, Waitewhena, Ohura, Mahorahora, and Paorae Roads, and terminating at its junction with the Stratford-Taumarunui Road, at Harvey Road Junction, passing through the Counties of Waitomo and Ohura; being a distance of forty-four miles, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 55, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
Waitomo Caves–Lemon Point: All that portion of the road known as Waitomo Caves–Lemon Point Road, commencing at its junction with the Hangatiki-Caves Main Highway, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Caves, Hauturu, and Mangapohue Roads to Te Anga, and continuing thence in a northerly direction via Te Anga–Lemon Point Road, and terminating at the inner end of the Lemon Point Wharf, passing through the Counties of Waitomo and Kawhia; being a distance of 34 miles 50 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 55, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 7.
Eltham–Rawhitiroa: All that road known as the Eltham–Rawhitiroa Road, commencing at the eastern boundary of the Borough of Eltham, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly, south-easterly, and easterly direction, and terminating at Section 40, Block XI, Ngaire Survey District, passing through the County of Eltham; being a distance of four miles, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 28, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 13.
McKenzie–Mina: All that portion of road known as the McKenzie–Mina Road, commencing at the north-eastern corner of Lot 5, Block XXII, MacKenzie Township, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction, and terminating at the north west corner of Lot I, Block III, Mina Township, Block XII, Lowry Peaks Survey District, passing through the County of Cheviot; being a distance of 2 miles 20 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 32, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 14.
Ashley–Amberley: All that road known as the Ashley–Amberley Road, commencing at its junction with the Rangiora–Oxford (via Loburn) Main Highway, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly, southerly, north-easterly, south-easterly, and easterly direction via Balcairn and Sefton, and terminating at its junction with the Christchurch–Blenheim (via Parnassus) Main Highway in the Amberley Town District, Block VIII, Teviotdale Survey District, passing through the Counties of Ashley and Kowai; being a distance of 13 miles 60 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 33, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
Tedington–Lyttelton: All that portion of the road known as the Teddington–Lyttelton Road, commencing at the post-office, Teddington, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly and north-easterly direction, and terminating at the south-western boundary of the Borough of Lyttelton, passing through the County of Mount Herbert; being a distance of 8 miles, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 33, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 16.
Arrow Bridge – Arrowtown: All that portion of the road known as the Arrow Bridge – Arrowtown Road, commencing at its junction with the Palmerston–Queenstown via Beck's Main Highway near Arrow Bridge, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction, through Blocks VIII, VII, and X, Shotover Survey District, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Borough of Arrowtown, passing through the County of Lake, being a distance of 60 chains, more or less. As the said public highway is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 39, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 18.
Tuatapere–Orepuki: All that portion of road known as the Tuatapere–Orepuki Road, commencing at the Tuatapere Railway-station, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly
