PARUA BAY.—BEACON INSTALLED.
A concrete beacon, locally called Parua Beacon, height
3½ft., having a small flag-pole surmount, has been erected at
a position about 208 yards 308° from the western extreme of
the larger island situated northward of Martin Point.
The beacon is composed of four concrete culvert pipes of
diminishing sizes upwards.

Erratum in Former Notice to Mariners No. 50 of 1925.
ATTENTION is hereby drawn to an error contained in
paragraph 3 of Notice to Mariners No. 50, published
in New Zealand Gazette No. 47, 18th June, 1925.
Paragraph 3 should read, “These pile beacons have been
placed so as to provide a transit line parallel to the wharf-
face and distant 400 ft. from it.” (Not “200 yards,” as is
stated in that notice.)

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
will be offered for sale by public auction for cash or
on deferred payments at the North Auckland District Lands
and Survey Office, Auckland, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., on Wed-
nesday, 26th August, 1925, under the provisions of the Dis-
charged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Hokitika County.—Waoku Survey District.
SECTION O.L.C. 86, Block IV: Area, 55 acres; upset price,
£860; required deposit, £60.
Section is situated six miles from Taheke Post-office, five
miles from Waima School, and fourteen miles from the Motu-
karaka Dairy Factory, on the bank of the Waima River, close
to its junction with the Taheke River. Soil is of first-class
quality, and is well watered. Land is very suitable for
dairying, twelve or so cows, or for poultry-raising.
The improvements consist of a rimu house, with iron roof,
of two rooms and leanto, cow-shed, another shed 16 ft. by
11 ft., and dairy with concrete floor. There is about 70 chains
of fencing in fair condition, and about 70 chains of draining
in need of attention; 10 acres are in good pasture and 40 acres
swamp land, 30 acres of which has been cleared and sown.
Note.—This property has no legal road access, but has
river access from both Taheke and Rawene.

Whangarei County.—Mangakahia Survey District.
Section 4, Block XII: Area, 267 acres 3 roods; upset price,
£1,250; required deposit, £100.
Property situated about eighteen miles from Whangarei
Railway-station, two miles from Titoki School and Post-office,
and about ten miles from Maungatapere Dairy Factory.
Section watered by creek and swamp. There is 20 acres of
good pasture, 140 acres worn-out pasture, 20 acres of bush
land felled and stumped, 10 acres of swamp, and about
77 acres poor fern and tea-tree land with a little shelter bush,
also quarter acre of orchard. There are a few patches of
blackberry, and fern has sprung up in places. Property
suitable for grazing, preferably sheep.
Improvements include about 340 chains of fencing, mostly
seven wires, in fair order; three-roomed kauri dwelling, iron
roof, brick chimney, in good order; outhouse, split kauri,
and iron roof; cow-shed, six bails, kahikatea, iron roof; and
separator-house, kauri, and iron roof.
