Notice of Change of the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in
Linkwater Survey District, Marlborough Land District.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the
said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case
of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the
Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for
which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
is portion of an area duly set apart as a reserve for timber,
and granted to the Superintendent of Marlborough on the
27th January, 1866, for the purpose of supplying timber for
the public service, being a purpose within Class II of the
Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to
change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserve
so set apart:
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by
section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the
purpose of the reservation over that portion of the reserve
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed to quarry
purposes. And I do hereby further declare that this notice
is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the
said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of
that section.

SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing
by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Section 2 of
55, Picton Suburban, Block XII, Linkwater Survey District.
Bounded as follows: Towards the north-west and north-east
by remaining portion of Section 55, 319·2 links and 520 links
respectively; towards the south-east by the Picton–Blenheim
Road, 100 links and 359·96 links; and towards the south-west by part of 55, railway land, for 563·2 links: be all the
aforesaid measurements more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/5/124, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Opening Land in the Gisborne Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General
Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section
one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby
declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall
be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twelfth day
of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five,
and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may,
at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.
GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Wairoa County.—Waiau Survey District.
SECTION 5, Block III: Area, 880 acres 2 roods 10 perches.
Capital value, £5,300. Occupation with right of purchase:
half-yearly rent, £132 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly
rent, £106.
Comprises undulating to hilly country, steep in places.
Generally good soil on papa formation with a fair sole of
mixed grasses principally native, excepting about 300 acres
in the south-west of which the soil is of fair quality of a
light pumiceous nature; mostly in fern, with grass showing
through portions of it. The whole well watered by permanent
springs, small lakelets, and the Waikaretakeke Stream;
ranging in altitude from about 1,200 ft. to 2,300 ft. above
sea-level. Situated on the Waikaremoana Road, which is
metalled, about thirty-three miles from the shipping port
and freezing-works at Wairoa.

The improvements which go with the land comprise
half share of 300 chains of boundary, 320 chains of road, and
roughly 180 chains of internal fencing, valued at £325, and
600 acres of grassing, valued at £1,800. The fences are old
and the posts require renewing. Principally black wire on
boundary and internal fencing with galvanized wire along
the road-fence.

Warrant apportioning the Annual Payments of Interest and
other Charges in respect of a Loan, originally raised by the
Waipa County Council, between the Waipa and Raglan
County Councils.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section seventy-three of the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1913, it is, inter alia, provided that where
part only of an area over which a special rate is made as
security for a loan is merged or included within the district
of a local authority other than the local authority that made
the rate, then the whole of the liability in respect of the loan
shall continue to be a liability of the local authority that
raised the loan, but the Governor-General may, upon the
written application of that local authority, by Warrant under
his hand, direct that any local authority in whose district
part of such area has been merged shall pay annually to the
first-mentioned local authority during the currency of the
loan, on such date as is specified, such amount as he considers
a duly proportionate part of the interest and other charges
in respect of the loan:
And whereas a part of the area over which a special loan of
four thousand pounds for erecting a bridge over the Mangapiko
River and metalling roads in the Mangapiko Riding was
raised by the Waipa County Council, has been merged or
included in the County of Raglan:
And whereas it has been mutually agreed between the
Waipa County Council and the Raglan County Council that
the amount of two pounds six shillings and elevenpence be
paid annually by the Raglan County Council to the Waipa
County Council as its duly proportionate part of the interest
and other charges payable in respect of the loan:
And whereas written application has been made by the
Waipa County Council to direct accordingly:
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pur-suance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
on me by section seventy-three of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913, do hereby direct that the Raglan County Council
shall, in respect of the above-mentioned loan, pay annually
to the Waipa County Council, on the thirty-first day of July,
in each and every year during the currency of the said loan,
the above-mentioned amount of two pounds six shillings and
elevenpence as its duly proportionate part of the interest
and other charges payable in respect of the said loan.
