the Wellington–New Plymouth Railway line to the middle of the Patea River; along the middle of that river to a point opposite the north-western corner of Section 5, Block I, Opaku Survey District; thence to and along the western boundary of that section to the Pukekino Road, to and along the middle of that road to its junction with the Tangahoe Valley Road, along the middle of that road to the Tangahoe Stream, along the middle of that stream to the Ohangai Road in Block VI, Hawera Survey District, along the middle of that road to its junction with the Tawhiti Road, along the middle of the Tawhiti Road to the Borough of Hawera hereinbefore described; thence along that boundary to the Wellington–New Plymouth Railway line; thence along that railway-line to the Town District of Normanby, along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of that town district, and again along the railway-line to the southern boundary of Eltham County, the place of commencement.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded on the west by the middle of the Tawhiti Road from the sea to the Hawera Borough boundary; thence on the west and north-west by the Hawera Borough boundary and the Ararata Riding hereinbefore described to the county boundary; thence by the county boundary to the sea; thence by the sea to the place of commencement.

Fixing Date on which Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, are to be furnished to the Otaki Fire Board.

PURSUANT to section 22 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1924, in respect of insurances held by such companies within the Otaki Fire District, after deducting the amount of premiums paid by way of reinsurance to any other insurance company contributing under the Act in respect of the premiums so received by it, shall be transmitted to the Otaki Fire Board in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the 30th day of May, 1925.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice of Intention to take Land for the Development of Water-power (Arapuni Scheme) in Blocks I and II, Otahuhu Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the development of water-power (Arapuni scheme): And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Penrose, and is there open for inspection, and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
