SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.
Section 254: Area, 29 acres 3 roods 2 perches. Capital value, £90. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £2 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 16s.
Section situated on Ridge Road, Albany to Riverhead, three miles from Riverhead by formed clay road. Undulating land lying to east, well sheltered; two-thirds ploughable; remainder can be brought in in time. Soil is of clay on sandstone: poorly watered by small swamps. Elevation, 200 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Suitable for fruit, potatoes, fowls, &c.
Rodney County.—Pakiri Survey District.
Section 36, Block XII: Area, 99 acres. Capital value, £85. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £2 2s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 14s.
Section situated between Wellsford and Waiteitei Settlement, access being from Wellsford Railway-station by formed dray-road, one mile and a half, of which one mile is metalled. Elevation ranges from 200 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. 25 acres fair-quality swamp with flax and cabbage-trees in it, balance undulating to steep broken country, approximately half of which is very poor. About three-quarters of the section is ploughable. The soil varies from a loam of fair quality to red and white clay on pipeclay formation. Well watered by swamp and creeks.

Setting apart Crown Land under Section 161 of the Land Act, 1924.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and sixty-one of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto for disposal under the section of the Act mentioned.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 48, Block V, Opoe Survey District: Area, 27 acres 2 roods 26 perches.

Primary Education Endowment in the Auckland Land District, set apart as a Site for a Public School.

WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowment vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserves or endowments:
And whereas the Land Board of the Auckland Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as a site for a public school, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto as a site for a public school.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Lot 2, D.P. 12431, and part Lot 2, D.P. 12430, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 404, folio 78, Auckland Registry.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of May, 1925.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Pongaroa Scenic Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act, for the period of three years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—
Leonard Johnston,
William Evan Davies,
William Nelson Lankey,
Max Kayser,
Ernest Ronaldson McIntyre,
Frederick William Gregory,
John McIntyre,
Frederick Wardle, and
Robert William Morris,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Pongaroa Scenic Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Wednesday, the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, at eight o’clock p.m., in the Public Hall, Pongaroa, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Wednesday in each quarter at the time and place aforesaid, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman for such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

PONGAROA SCENIC RESERVE.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
SECTIONS 1 to 12, Block IV, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 5 acres 1 rood 35 perches.
Also Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, Block VII, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 2 acres 3 roods 11 perches.
Also part of Section 5 and Sections 6 to 16 inclusive, Block XII; parts of Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and Sections 11, 13, and part Section 14, Block XIII, part Section 16 and Sections 14 and 18 to 24 inclusive, Block IX, Town of Pongaroa; Section 14, Suburbs of Pongaroa; and roads within the above area stopped by Proclamation dated 18th February, 1908, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of the 20th February, 1908, page 608: Area, 48 acres 1 rood 13 perches.
Also Section 24, Pongaroa Suburbs, Block IX, Mount Cerberus Survey District: Area, 3 roods 30 perches.
