Notifying Land in Nelson Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

Section 739, City of Nelson: Area, 1 acre; upset price, £500.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of May, 1925.

Opening National-endowment Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-NATIONAL ENDOWMENT. -SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Bay of Islands County.-Kawakawa Survey District.

Sections 39 and 40, Block XVI: Area, 8 acres 1 rood 14 perches; capital value, £20; half-yearly rent, 8s.

Sections 43, 44, and 45, Block XVI : Area, 16 acres 2 roods 26 perches; capital value, £45; half-yearly rent, 18s.

Altitude, 30ft. to 150ft. above sea-level. Broken country covered with fern, manuka, and hakea. Soil of very poor clay on sandstone formation, badly watered. Very much disfigured with gum-holes, mine-shafts, tram-lines, tip-heads, &c. About a quarter mile distant from Kawakawa.

Opening National-endowment Lands in Nelson Land District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:-

The national-endowment rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, at the rentals specified in the said Schedule, and shall be deemed to be heavy-bush lands.

After the first half-year's rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board thinks fit.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LAND.-NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.

Waimea County.-Waimea Survey District.

(Exempt from rent for four years.)

Section 9, Block XV: Area, 1,008 acres; capital value, £960; half-yearly rent, £19 4s.

Situated in the “Waimea Block” in Aniseed Valley, between Serpentine and Miner Creeks. Access from Hope Railway-station, eight miles by good metalled road, thence one mile rough track. Steep rugged country, almost entirely covered with manuka-scrub and a few patches of light bush. Poor soil; within the mineral belt. Well watered. Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,800 ft. above sea-level.

Section 11, Block XV: Area, 1,470 acres; capital value, £1,290; half-yearly rent, £25 16s.

Situated in the “Waimea Block” two miles up the Serpentine Creek. Access from Hope Railway-station by good metalled road to within two miles of section, then rough bridle-track. Very broken hilly country covered with light bush and manuka-scrub. Clayey soil resting on mineral rock formation. Well watered. Altitude, 400 ft. to 1,500 ft. above sea-level. General quality poor.

Opening Lands in the North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Waitemata County.-Paremoreremo Parish.

Section 243: Area, 25 acres 0 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £125. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent £3 2s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 10s.

Section situated on Riverhead-Albany Road, one mile and a half from Riverhead. Flat to undulating land in short scrub, fern, and tea-tree; all more or less ploughable, lying well to north; fairly well sheltered. Soil is of clay on sandstone. Poorly watered by swamps. Elevation about 100 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Suitable for fruit, poultry, &c.

Sections 322 and 323: Area, 30 acres 1 rood 17 perches. Capital value, £200. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £5. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4.

Weighted with £50, valuation for improvements.

Sections situated one mile and a half from Albany Wharf, Post-office, and School by formed road, most of which is metalled. All ploughable land; 2 acres in part-worn-out pasture, about 20 acres in scrub, and some clearing and cultivation has been done. About 40 chains fencing in poor condition. House, cheaply built, five rooms, wants doing up. The soil is mostly free clay loam, which can be made useful by good tillage and fertilizing. Watered by swampy stream and springs, and better supply could probably be obtained by boring. Suitable for mixed farming, and small fruits could also be grown.

Waitemata County.-Waipareira Parish.

Section 211: Area, 19 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £235. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £5 17s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 14s.

Section situated two miles south of Swanson on Henderson Valley Road, which is mostly metalled. Undulating land running up steeply at the back, and all more or less ploughable. Two swampy creeks running through it provides plenty of water. Elevation ranges from 150 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Soil is of clay, varying from poor to fair, on clay and sandstone formation.

Improvements consist of 2 acres orchard, 10 chains draining, 5 chains hedge, and whare 8 ft. by 12 ft. of kauri with iron roof.
