Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby
declare that, from and after the gazetting of this Proclama-
tion, the police-gaol at Akaroa, in the Land District of
Canterbury, shall cease to be a police-gaol.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 21st day of May,
1925.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is pro-
vided that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation
published in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure,
or place to be a prison, and from and after the gazetting of
any such Proclamation, or from any time later specified in the
Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place shall
be deemed a prison:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby
declare that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto,
and all buildings and enclosures used or occupied thereon,
shall, from and after the date of the publication of this
Proclamation in the Gazette, be a prison known as the Rangipo
Prison, within the meaning and for the purposes of the Prisons
Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by
admeasurement 800 acres, more or less, and being Section 1,
Block VIII, Pihanga Survey District, commencing at a point
on the eastern side of the Waiouru-Tokaanu Road due east
from Trig. No. 14, thence towards the north generally by that
road a distance of 13036.3 links; thence by a line running
due east a distance of 6200 links, to the Waikato River; thence
southward by that river to a point due east from the afore-
mentioned Trig. No. 14; thence by a line due west, a distance
of 8000 links, to the point of commencement. As the same is
more particularly delineated on plan numbered 153/2P,
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion this 21st day of May,
1925.

Abolishing the Norfolk Downs Drainage District—County of
Piako.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of
May, 1925.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made under the Land
Drainage Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the
said Act”), dated the second day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and eighteen, and gazetted on the eleventh day of
the same month, the area described in the Schedule to the
said Order in Council was constituted a drainage district
under the said Act, to be called by the name of the “Norfolk
Downs Drainage District.”:

And whereas a period of three years has elapsed during
which no trustees have held office for the said drainage district
under the said Act:

And whereas it is desirable to abolish the said district:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act and
the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby abolish the said Norfolk Downs
Drainage District as from the date of publication hereof in the
New Zealand Gazette.

Allocating Cost of certain Proceedings under Section 132 of the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, Borough of Riccarton.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of
May, 1925.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section one
hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations
Act, 1920, and of every other power and authority enabling
him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby direct that the Riccarton Borough Council and
the Waimairi County Council shall defray in equal proportions
all the costs of the Commission appointed under the said Act
by Warrants under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General dated the twenty-first day of January, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-five, and the nineteenth day of
March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, to hold
an inquiry and make a report on the proposal to exclude
an area from the County of Waimairi and include such area
in the Borough of Riccarton.

Amendment to the Regulations under the Government Railways
Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of
May, 1925.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him
by section ninety-four of the Government Railways Act,
1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
amend the regulations made under the Government Railways
Superannuation Fund Act, 1902, on the eighth day of July,
one thousand nine hundred and three, by omitting Regulation
14, and substituting the following :

  1. Every contributor whose contributions to the fund
    are in arrear shall liquidate his liability to the fund in
    such manner as the Board may determine.

This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation
on the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-three.

Exempting Certain Goods from Primage Duty (C. No. 27).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of
May, 1925.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Customs
Amendment Act, 1921, and of all other powers and autho-
rities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby exempt radium, mesothorium, and
other radio-active metallic elements, also inorganic salts of
the same, from the primage duty imposed by the aforesaid
section fifteen of the said Act.

This Order in Council shall be deemed to have come into
force on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-five.
