Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land for the Extension of the Westport-Ngakawau Railway to the Mokihinui River.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken the Governor-General may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoked the former Proclamation, either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary:

And whereas it is found that part of the land taken for the purposes of the extension of the Westport-Ngakawau Railway to the Mokihinui River by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1894, dated the seventeenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 83, of the twenty-second day of the same month, page 1692, is not required for the purpose for which it was taken:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the said Proclamation as affects the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 3 roods 1 perch.
Portion of Railway Reserve (Section 80, Ngakawau Township.)

In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on a copy of the plan marked P.W.D. 17152, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of January, 1925.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Sir Charles Ferguson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation made on the fourteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the Gazatte of the twentieth day of November then instant, setting apart Crown lands for selection by discharged soldiers, under the Land Act, 1908, in so far as it relates to the land in the Schedule hereto.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Hokianga County.—Whangape Survey District.—Pareokawa Block.

SECTION 17, Block VIII: Area, 266 acres.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Sir Charles Ferguson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation made on the fifth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the Gazette of the seventh day of September then instant, setting apart settlement lands for selection by discharged soldiers, under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, in so far as it relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Levels County.—Arowhenua Survey District.—Seaforth Settlement.

SECTION 2: Area, 58 acres 1 rood 30 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 17th day of January, 1925.
