poll of the ratepayers of the said borough taken on the 26th day of February, 1923 (the said loan of £11,000 having been found insufficient to complete the said undertaking), the said Shannon Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the said Borough of Shannon; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years computed from the 1st day of February, 1925, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD DISTRICT.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Mount Roskill Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,800, authorized to be raised by the Mount Roskill Road Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the laying of water-mains along Richardson Road, May Road, and White Swan Road, the said Mount Roskill Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. (three farthings) in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property contained in Part Blocks 47, 48, Blocks 49, 70, 71, 72, 73, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, Parish of Titirangi; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 14th day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of shareholders in MARTIN WHYTE (LIMITED), a private company incorporated under the above Act, held on the twelfth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, it was resolved,––

That, it having been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, that the same be wound up accordingly, and that SAMUEL PHILIP MIRAMS, of Dunedin, Indent Agent, and OSWALD REECE MARTIN, of Dunedin, Commercial Traveller, be and they were thereby appointed Liquidators for the purposes of such winding-up.

And that at a subsequent meeting of shareholders held on the sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, it was resolved,––

That JOHN ALFRED ROBINSON, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, be and he was thereby appointed a Liquidator of the company in place of SAMUEL PHILIP MIRAMS, resigned.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, an entry was made in the minute-book of the above-named company and signed by over three-fourths of the members holding in the aggregate over three-fourths of the shares in the capital of the company, a copy of which entry is as follows:—

“Resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that ALFRED LAMBERT PIKE, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME.

I, HENRY ALLEN STEEVENS, heretofore called and known by the name of “Henry Allen Horton,” of Pongakawa, in the Provincial District of Auckland, Farmer, hereby give public notice that on the 23rd day of February, 1925, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of “Horton,” and then assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe, the name of “Steevens” instead of the said name of “Horton”; and I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the 23rd day of February, 1925, duly executed and attested (and filed) in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Auckland on the 17th day of March, 1925, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Horton,” and declared that I had assumed and adopted, and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe, the name “Steevens” instead of “Horton,” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of “Steevens” exclusively.
