PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Te Kumi-Hangatiki Special-rating Area, taken on the 22nd day of August, 1924, on the proposal of the Waitomo County Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for re-forming, widening, culverting, and metalling portion of the Te Kumi-Hangatiki Road,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 7; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 0.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Redcliffs Sewage Special Loan Area.—Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers in the Redcliffs Sewage Special Loan Area of the Borough of Sumner, taken on the 13th day of August, 1924, on the proposal of the Sumner Borough Council to borrow the sum of £13,000 for the purpose of installing sewage-works in the Redcliffs Sewage Special-rating Area,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 173; the number of votes recorded against proposal was 11.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAIROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Polls for Proposed Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that on Thursday, the 18th day of September, 1924, a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Wairoa was taken on each of the loan proposals set out hereunder. The number of valid votes recorded at the said polls respectively for and against the said proposals respectively and the numbers of informal votes cast at the said polls respectively were as follows:—
Proposal No. 1: A special loan of £3,000 for construction of river-protection works,—
Votes for, 303; votes against, 80; informal votes, 8.
Proposal No. 2: A special loan of £240 for half-cost of construction of Awatere Bridge,—
Votes for, 321; votes against, 61; informal votes, 9.
Proposal No. 3: A special loan of £4,300 for provision of land and laying out and improving sports-ground at Lambton Square,—
Votes for, 276; votes against, 107; informal votes, 8.
Proposal No. 4: A special loan of £460 for Tawhara drainage and flood-protection works,—
Votes for, 324; votes against, 62; informal, 5.
Inasmuch as of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll on each of the said proposals a majority was recorded in favour of each such proposal, I therefore declare the said proposals numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4 to be carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block III, Whirinaki Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block III, Whirinaki Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Ruatiti, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre 2 roods.
Portion of Section 1, Block III, Whirinaki Survey District. (S.O. 1830.).
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 58009, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured yellow.
