Notice respecting Proposed Town District of Waipu, County of Whangarei.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 1st October, 1924.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under the said Act, by name the Town District of Waipu.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said district which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED WAIPU TOWN DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Land District of North Auckland, bounded on the north by the Waipu River from the westernmost corner of Allotment 2, Parish of Waipu, to the confluence of the East Branch; on the east by the said East Branch to the Allotment 25; on the south by Allotments 25, 307, Waipu Kauri-gum Reserve, and Allotment 213 to the Waihoihoi Stream; and on the west by the Waihoihoi Stream and Allotments 5 and 4, Waipu Parish, and the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the last-named allotment to the point of commencement.

Special Order made by the Lawrence Borough Council reducing Number of Councillors.

THE following special order, made by the Lawrence Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.

LAWRENCE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of section 142 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.
Special Order altering Total Number of Members of the Council.
RESOLVED, That pursuant to the provisions of section 142 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Lawrence Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special resolution, to operate as a special order, that the total number of members of the said Council, exclusive of the Mayor, shall be six, instead of nine as at present; and hereby further resolves that such reduction of members to six shall take effect at and from the forthcoming biennial election of Councillors to be held on the last Wednesday in April, 1925.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was duly passed and adopted by the Lawrence Borough Council at a special meeting of the said Council duly convened and held at the Borough Council offices, Lawrence, on Monday, the 11th day of August, 1924, and confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the said Council duly convened and held at the said offices on Monday, the 8th day of September, 1924, and that all the requirements of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, have been complied with.

AT the examination of candidates for a surveyor’s license held in September, 1924, under the Surveyors’ Institute and Board of Examiners Act, 1908, and conducted by the Federated Surveyors’ Boards of Australia and New Zealand, forty-seven candidates presented themselves in New Zealand. Seventeen of these candidates succeeded in obtaining passes, as under:—

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.
I, ERNEST CLAUDE ADAMS, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Greymouth-Hokitika Sawmillers’ Association (Incorporated), 1916/1, is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.
