Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 12th September, 1924.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the County of Waipa, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Owairaka Special-rating Area of the County of Waipa, taken on the 29th day of August, 1924, on the proposal of the Waipa County Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of construction of roads in the Owairaka Special-rating Area,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 18; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Rotorua, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

ROTORUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Rotorua, taken on the 8th day of August, 1924, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £40,000 for the purpose of providing the necessary machinery and plant, and for forming, improving, metalling, or surfacing various roads within the County of Rotorua, as scheduled in the notices previously advertised, the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 195, while the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 84.

I therefore declare the proposal to be duly carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Rotorua, taken on the 8th day of August, 1924, on a proposal to make and levy a “bridge rate” for the purpose of providing funds for the renewal of bridges within the county exceeding 30 ft. in span, the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 170, while the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 110.

I therefore declare the proposal to be duly carried.

Notice making and levying Rates under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 15th September, 1924.

I, ALEXANDER DONALD McLEOD, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Hauraki Plains, Act, 1908, do hereby make and levy upon the unimproved value of all lands liable to be rated pursuant to that Act a rate on a graduated scale as specified in the Schedule hereto according to the classification of the land.

The said rate will be payable in one sum on the 2nd day of October, 1924, to the Collector of Rates for the Hauraki Plains Rating District, at the Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, at which office the rate-book will be open for inspection.

A copy of the rate-book may be inspected by ratepayers at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer at Kerepehi at all times at which that office is open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE.

CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act: Twopence and ninety-one one-hundredths of a penny (2d. and 91/100d.) in the pound.

Class B.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class B by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act: One penny and sixty-six one-hundredths of a penny (1d. and 66/100d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class C by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act: Forty-two one-hundredths of a penny (42/100d.) in the pound.

Hauraki Plains Rating Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy Rates.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and its amendments, to make and levy a rate for the period from 1st April, 1924, to the 31st March, 1925, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act.

The amount of such rate will be payable in one sum on the 2nd day of October, 1924.

The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, and a copy of the same may be inspected at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, Kerepehi, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT gorse and Bathurst burr be declared noxious weeds under the Noxious Weeds Act within the Russell Town District.

The above special order was adopted at a special meeting of the Russell Town Board held on the 7th July, 1924, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Board on the 11th August, 1924.
