Opening National-endowment Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Thursday, the twenty-third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Ellesmere County.
SECTIONS 36712, 36713, and 36714, Blocks XVI, Selwyn, and Blocks II and III, Hurst Survey Districts: Total area, 242 acres 0 roods 7 perches. Capital value, £181 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 12s. 7d.
Situated about seven miles from Southbridge. The land is unfenced and unwatered; light, sandy, and stony, suitable for grazing and a little cropping.

Primary Education Endowment in Kaiwaka Village, North Auckland Land District, set apart as an Addition to a Site for a Public School.

WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserves or endowments:
And whereas the Land Board of the North Auckland Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as an addition to a site for a public school, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto as an addition to a site for a public school.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Allotment 35, Village of Kaiwaka. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 1/571B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered purple.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in the Nelson Land District.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of an area duly set apart as a reserve for resting cattle, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and such land is not vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustee:
And whereas it is expedient that such land should be appropriated for a public-school site, being a purpose within Class III of the said Second Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the twenty-seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, be appropriated for a public-school site under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SECTION 22 (formerly portion of Section 8), Block I, Motupiko Survey District: Area, 5 acres.

Harper, as Acting-Consul of Chile at Wellington, during the temporary absence from the Dominion of the Honorary Consul.
