HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR STREETS £70,000 LOAN.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on a loan of £70,000, authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, to be expended (1) for the purchase of bitumen plant, roller, sprayer, heating-pots, and other plant and appliances for laying down bitumen roads, (2) for laying down and constructing a bituminous or concrete carriageway from the junction of London Street with Victoria Street along London Street, Norton Road, Commerce Street, and High Street, to the junction of High Street with Hall Street, including all labour and material, and (3) for forming and improving streets in Hamilton, including laying down and constructing bituminous carriageways and footways and the purchase of road metal for such purposes, and all labour and material, the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-thirds (2/3rds) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the Borough of Hamilton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period not exceeding 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on a loan of £2,200, authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, to be expended for the purpose of repaying a portion of a loan of £3,000 raised on the 2nd January, 1904, for the erection of a town hall and municipal offices, the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one forty-second part (1/42nd) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the Borough of Hamilton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period not exceeding 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that I, ARTHUR HARRY NEALE HAMMOND, of Hastings, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, Draper, hitherto called or known by the name of “Arthur Harry Neale Skelton,” have assumed and adopted the name of “Arthur Harry Neale Hammond” in lieu of and in substitution for the name of “Arthur Harry Neale Skelton,” and that I now do and at all times hereafter will in all deeds, writings, dealings, transactions, and documents, and all legal and other proceedings, affairs, occasions, and matters whatsoever, use the name of “Arthur Harry Neale Hammond” as and for my name in lieu of and in substitution for the aforesaid name of “Arthur Harry Neale Skelton”; and that I have authorized and required all persons whomsoever at all times hereafter to designate, describe, and address me by such name of “Arthur Harry Neale Hammond.” As testified by deed poll under my hand and seal bearing date the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, filed in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Napier.

NOTICE is hereby given that by resolution passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the company in Wellington on Friday, the 9th day of May, 1924, and confirmed at the second extraordinary general meeting held at the same place on Thursday, the 29th day of May, 1924, the following resolution was passed:—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. R. S. McINNES be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of McKay and Little, Public Accountants, Dominion Farmers’ Institute, Wellington, on Monday, the thirtieth (30th) of June, 1924, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.
