Norsewood–Whetukura: All that road known as the Norsewood–Whetukura Road, commencing at its junction with the Napier–Wellington Road at Norsewood and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction via Ormondville, and terminating at Whetukura, passing through the County of Dannevirke, being a distance of eight miles, more or less.
Weber–Eketahuna Road: All that portion of the road known as the Weber–Eketahuna Road, commencing at its junction with the Dannevirke–Waipukurau Road via Porangahau, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction, and terminating at the southern boundary of the County of Weber, being a distance of five miles, more or less.
Woodville–Palmerston North: All that portion of the road known as the Woodville–Palmerston North Road, commencing at the western boundary of the Borough of Woodville and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction, terminating at the western boundary of the County of Woodville, passing through the County of Woodville, being a distance of 2 miles 20 chains, more or less.
As the said public highways are more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 35, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

Declaring Public Highways in the No. 6 Highway District to be Main Highways.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 9th day of June, 1924.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that on and after the date of this Order in Council the public highways mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be main highways within the meaning and for the purpose of the Main Highways Act, 1922.
SCHEDULE.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 6.
AUCKLAND–Wellington, via Taranaki: All that portion of the road known as the Auckland–Wellington Road via Taranaki, commencing at the northern boundary of the County of Otorohanga and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Kiokio, Otorohanga, Hangatiki, Te Kumi, Te Kuiti, Piopio, Paemako, Mahoenui, Awakino, and terminating at the northern end of the Mokau River Ferry on the southern boundary of the Waitomo County, passing through the Counties of Otorohanga and Waitomo, but excluding that portion of the road in the Borough of Te Kuiti to the east of the Main Trunk Railway, being a distance of eighty-one miles, more or less.
Te Kuiti – Bull’s (via Taumarunui): All that portion of the road known as the Te Kuiti – Bull’s (via Taumarunui) Road, commencing at the Mangapehi Road at its junction with the Auckland–Wellington Road via Taranaki, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Mapiu, Hiwi, and Upper Ohura Roads, Ongarue Valley Road (right bank), Taringamotu, Taumarunui, Manunui, Piriaka, Kakahi, Owhango, Oio, Raurimu, Waimarino, and terminating at the southern boundary of the County of Kaitieke at the Manganui-a-te-Ao River, passing through the Counties of Waitomo, Ohura, Taumarunui, Kaitieke, but excluding that portion of the road in the Borough of Taumarunui, being a distance of eighty-one miles, more or less.
Kawhia to Auckland–Wellington Road via Kawa: All that road known as the Kawhia to Auckland–Wellington Road via Kawa, commencing at the inner end of the wharf at Kawhia, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Oparau, Te Rauamoa, Ngutunui, Kawa, and terminating at its junction with the Auckland–Wellington (via Taranaki) Road four miles and a half, more or less, south of Kihikihi Town District, passing through the Counties of Kawhia and Otorohanga, being a distance of forty miles, more or less.
Hangatiki–Caves Road: All that road known as the Hangatiki–Caves Road, commencing at its junction with the Auckland–Wellington (via Taranaki) Road, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction, and terminating at the junction of the Tumutumu and Mangapohue Road, passing through the County of Waitomo, being a distance of seven miles, more or less.
As the said public highways are more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 55, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

AUCKLAND–Wellington Road via Taranaki: All that portion of the road known as the Auckland-Wellington Road via Taranaki, commencing at the northern bank of the Mokau River on the northern boundary of the County of Clifton and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly and southerly direction via Tongaporutu, Okau Junction, Uruti, Urenui, Waitara, Lepperton Junction, Inglewood, Stratford, Eltham, Normanby, Hawera, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Hawera County at Manawapou River, passing through the Counties of Inglewood, Stratford, Eltham, and Hawera; but excluding those portions of the road in the Boroughs of Waitara, Inglewood, Stratford, Eltham, and Hawera, and also excluding that portion of the road in the County of Clifton commencing at its junction with the Mangatuna Road and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Uruti, Urenui, and Waihi, and terminating at the eastern boundary of the Borough of Waitara, being a distance of twenty-five miles, more or less; and also excluding that portion of the road within the Counties of Inglewood and Stratford commencing at the southern boundary of the Borough of Inglewood, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Tariki and Midhirst, and terminating at the northern boundary of the Borough of Stratford, being a distance of seventeen miles, more or less; being, therefore, a net distance of 49 miles 30 chains, more or less.
Lepperton Junction – Hawera, via Opunake: All that portion of the road known as the Lepperton Junction–Hawera Road via Opunake, commencing at its junction with the Auckland–Wellington Road at Lepperton Junction and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly and a south-easterly direction via Bell Block, New Plymouth, Oakura, Okato, Rahotu, Opunake, Pihama, Otakeho, Manaia, and terminating at the western boundary of the Borough of Hawera, passing through the Counties of Taranaki, Egmont, Waimate West, and Hawera; but excluding the portion of road within the Borough of New Plymouth, and also excluding that portion of the road in the Taranaki County commencing at the western boundary of the Borough of New Plymouth and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Oakura, Okato, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Taranaki County at Puniho, being a distance of seventeen miles, more or less; and also excluding that portion of the road in the Hawera County commencing at the western boundary of the Hawera County near Riversdale, and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction via Inaha, and terminating at the western boundary of the Borough of Hawera, being a distance of six miles, more or less; being, therefore, a net distance of 45 miles 40 chains, more or less.
New Plymouth – Kaimata (via Inglewood): All that portion of the road known as the New Plymouth – Kaimata (via Inglewood) Road, commencing at the southern boundary
