with the Whangarei-Dargaville Road and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction via Maungatapere, Titoki, Parakao, Pakotai, and terminating at its junction with the Ohaeawai-Waimamaku Road, passing through the Counties of Whangarei and Bay of Islands, and including that portion of the road in the Town District of Kaikohe, being a distance of fifty-one miles, more or less.

Waimamaku-Ohaeawai: All that road known as Waimamaku-Ohaeawai Road, commencing at the south-western corner of Section A B, Block IX, Waoku Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly, northerly, easterly, and north-easterly direction via Pakanae, Whirinaki, Oue, Waima, Taheke, Kaikohe, Ngawha, and terminating at its junction with the Kawakawa-Rangiahua Road at Ohaeawai, passing through the Counties of Hokianga and Bay of Islands, and including that portion of the road in the Kaikohe Town District, being a distance of 51 miles 40 chains, more or less.

Rawene-Kaikohe: All that portion of the road known as Rawene-Kaikohe Road, commencing at the wharf at Rawene and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction, and terminating at its junction with the Waimamaku-Ohaeawai Road at Oue Junction, passing through Hokianga County, being a distance of 3 miles 40 chains, more or less.

Kohukohu-Te Karae: All that road known as Kohukohu-Te Karae Road, commencing at Kohukohu Wharf, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction, and terminating at its junction with the Broadwood-Mangamuka Road at Te Karae Bridge, passing through Hokianga County, and including that portion of the road in the Kohukohu Town District, being a distance of six miles, more or less.

Broadwood-Kaitaia: All that road known as Broadwood-Kaitaia Road commencing at the post-office, Broadwood, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly, north-westerly, and north-easterly direction via Wainui Junction, and terminating at its junction with the Waipapakauri-Victoria Valley Road at Kaitaia, passing through the Counties of Hokianga and Mongonui, including that portion of road in Kaitaia Town District, being a distance of thirty miles, more or less.

Waipapakauri-Victoria Valley Road: All that road known as the Waipapakauri-Victoria Valley Road, commencing at the post-office, Waipapakauri, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and south-easterly direction via Kaitaia, and terminating at Victoria Valley Post-office, passing through the County of Mongonui, being a distance of 17 miles 40 chains, more or less.

Victoria Valley-Mangonui: All that road known as Victoria Valley-Mangonui Road, commencing at Victoria Valley Post-office, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction via Peria, Oruru, and terminating at the Mangonui Wharf, passing through Mongonui County, being a distance of twenty miles, more or less.

Kaikohe-Omapere Road: All that road known as the Kaikohe-Omapere Road, commencing on the northern boundary of the Kaikohe Town District and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction to and along the eastern side of the Omapere Lake via Pokapu Road, and terminating at its junction with the Kawakawa-Mangamuka Road, passing through the Bay of Islands County, being a distance of four miles, more or less.

Kawakawa-Mangamuka: All that road known as the Kawakawa-Mangamuka Road, commencing at its junction with the Whangarei-Kawakawa Road at Kawakawa Post-office, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction via Ohaeawai, Omapere, Okaihau, Rangiahua, Mangamuka River Bridge, and terminating at junction with Iwitaua Road at Mangamuka, passing through the Counties of Bay of Islands and Hokianga, and including that portion of the road in the Kawakawa Town District, being a distance of 46 miles 60 chains, more or less.

Mangamuka-Te Karae: All that road known as the Mangamuka-Te Karae Road, commencing at its junction with the Rangiahua-Mangamuka Road at Mangamuka Bridge and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction, and terminating at Te Karae Bridge, passing through the County of Hokianga, being a distance of five miles, more or less.

Whangaroa-Okaihau: All that portion of the Whangaroa-Okaihau Road, commencing at Whangaroa Wharf and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction through Whangaroa, Kaeo, Waiare, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Whangaroa County, passing through the County of Whangaroa, being a distance of 18 miles 40 chains, more or less.

Dargaville-Maungaturoto Road: All that road known as the Dargaville-Maungaturoto Road, commencing at the southern end of the Wairoa River Bridge near Dargaville and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and easterly direction, passing through Mititai, Tokatoka, Ruawai, Matakohe, Paparoa, Paparoa Railway-station, and following up Paparoa Creek to saddle on Maungaturoto-Waipu Road near Section 41, and thence through Sections 91, 32, 33, 36, 37, 38, Block VIII, Waipu Survey District, and terminating at its junction with Dargaville-Maungaturoto Road near Wairau Bridge, Maungaturoto, passing through Counties of Hobson and Otamatea, being a distance of 41 miles 20 chains, more or less.

As the said public highways are more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 45, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

Declaring Public Highways in the No. 2 Highway District to be Main Highways.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 9th day of June, 1924.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that on and after the date of this Order in Council the public highways mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be main highways within the meaning and for the purpose of the Main Highways Act, 1922.

SCHEDULE.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 2.
Roads to be declared Main Highways.

AUCKLAND-HELENSVILLE: All that portion of the Auckland-Helensville Road, commencing at Oakley Creek at the western boundary of the Borough of Mount Albert and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction, and terminating at the southern end of Whau Creek Bridge, passing through the Borough of Avondale, being a distance of 73 chains, more or less.

Great South Road: All that portion of the road known as the Great South Road, commencing at its junction with Wairakei Street at the southern boundary of the City of Auckland and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Ellerslie Town District, One Tree Hill Road District, Mount Wellington Road District, Otahuhu, Papatoetoe, Papakura, Drury, Bombay, Pokeno, Mercer, Rangiriri Hills Deviation, Rangiriri, Huntly, Taupiri, Ngaruawahia, Hamilton, Ohaupo, Te Awamutu, and Kihikihi, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Waipa County, passing through the Counties of Eden, Manukau, Franklin, Waikato, and Waipa, including those portions of the road in the Town Districts of Ellerslie, Papatoetoe, Manurewa, Papakura, Mercer, Huntly, but excluding those portions of the road in the Boroughs of Otahuhu, Ngaruawahia, Hamilton, and Te Awamutu, being a distance of 95 miles 40 chains, more or less.

Pokeno-Waihi: All that road known as the Pokeno-Waihi Road, commencing at its junction with Great South Road at Pokeno and proceeding thence generally in an easterly and south-easterly direction via Mangatawahiri, Maramarua, Waitakaruru, Ngatea, Netherton, and Paeroa, and terminating at the western boundary of the Borough of Waihi, passing through the Counties of Franklin, Waikato, Hauraki Plains, and Ohinemuri, but excluding that portion of the road in the Borough of Paeroa, being a distance of fifty-seven miles, more or less.

Pokeno-Tauranga Road to Coromandel: All that road known as the Pokeno-Tauranga Road to Coromandel Road, commencing at its junction with the Pokeno-Tauranga Road at Section 4, Block X, Thames Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly and north-easterly direction via Pipiroa, Kopu, and Thames, and terminating at Coromandel Post-office, passing through the Counties of Hauraki Plains, Thames, and Coromandel, but excluding that portion of the road within the Borough of Thames, being a distance of forty-one miles, more or less.

Hamilton-Raglan: All that road known as Hamilton-Raglan Road, commencing at the western boundary of the Hamilton Borough and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Whatawhata, Waitetuna, and Te Uku,
