Vesting a Reserve in the Waimarino County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been permanently reserved for a site for a roadman’s cottage: And whereas it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Waimarino County:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Waimarino County, in trust, for a site for a roadman’s cottage.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

Lot 3 of Section 9, Block VIII, Whirinaki Survey District: Area, 8 acres.

Vesting the Control of a Water-supply Reserve in the Rotorua County Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for water-supply purposes: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Rotorua County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Rotorua County Council.

SUBDIVISION 2 of Section 14, Block XV, Rotorua Survey District: Area, 25 acres 2 roods 9 perches.

Declaring Roads and Portions of Roads in Highway District No. 1, Bay of Islands, Hokianga, Whangaroa, Hobson, and Otamatea Counties, to be Government Roads.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the roads and portions of roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government roads.


SCHEDULE.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 1.

KAIKOHE-Omapere Road: All that road in the Bay of Islands County, known as the Kaikohe-Omapere Road, commencing at its junction with the Kaikohe-Ohacawa Road on the northern boundary of the Kaikohe Town District, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction to and along the eastern side of the Omapere Lake, and terminating at its junction with the Kawakawa-Mangamuka Road, being a distance of four miles, more or less; marked A–B on plan.

Kaikohe to Mangakahia Valley Road: All that portion of the Kaikohe to Mangakahia Valley Road, in the Bay of Islands County, commencing on the southern boundary of the Kaikohe Town District, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction, and terminating at the junction of the Mangakahia and Awarua Rivers, being a distance of eighteen miles, more or less; marked A–C on plan.

Rangiahua–Mangamuka Road: All that road in the Hokianga County, known as the Rangiahua–Mangamuka Road, commencing at the Rangiahua Bridge over the Waihou River, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction, and terminating at Mangamuka River Bridge, being a distance of eleven miles, more or less; marked D–E on plan.

Mangamuka–Te Karae Road: All that road in the Hokianga County, known as the Mangamuka–Te Karae Road, commencing at its junction with the Mohuiti–Mangamuka Road, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction, and terminating at Te Karae Bridge, being a distance of five miles, more or less: marked E–F on plan.

Whangaroa–Okaihau Road: All that portion of the Whangaroa to Okaihau Road in the Whangaroa County, commencing at Waiare Road Junction, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction, and terminating at the southern boundary of the Whangaroa County, being a distance of 8 miles 40 chains, more or less; marked G–H on plan.

Dargaville–Maungaturoto Road: All that road in the Hobson and Otamatea Counties, known as the Dargaville–Maungaturoto Road, commencing at the southern end of the Wairoa River Bridge near Dargaville, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and easterly direction, passing through Mititau, Tokatoka, Raupo, Ruawai, Matakoe, Paparoa Railway-station, and terminating at its junction with the Maungaturoto–Waiapu Road near Maungaturoto Township, being a distance of 41 miles 20 chains, more or less; marked J–K on plan.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 45, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue and marked as above mentioned.
