Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the Tamaki West Road Board in respect of a Loan of £8,000, being a Portion of a Loan of £18,000, authorized to be raised for Extensions of the Electric Light and Power Plant and of the Water-works.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921, and its amendments, it is provided that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of interest or the term of years of the loan was or was not specified or determined, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
And whereas the Tamaki West Road Board has been authorized to borrow the sum of eighteen thousand pounds for extensions of the electric light and power plant and of the waterworks, and is now desirous of raising the sum of eight thousand pounds, being a portion of the loan of eighteen thousand pounds:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the Tamaki West Road Board in respect of the said loan of eight thousand pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Tamaki West Road Board is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of eight thousand pounds accordingly.

The Eastern Side of Portion of Adams Street, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in any wise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Wellington City Council on the seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, viz.:
“The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the eastern side of all that portion of Adams Street, beginning at a point 259·7 links from its junction with Garfield Street, and extending for a distance of 100·16 links, being frontage of Lot 86, D.P. 392, part Section 12, Ohirō Registration District, Block X, Port Nicholson Survey District”;
subject to the condition that no building shall at any time be erected on the eastern side of the portion of Adams Street (described in the Schedule hereto), within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.
SCHEDULE.
THE eastern side of all that portion of street, situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Adams Street, fronting Lot 86 on D.P. 392, part Section 12, Ohirō R.D., Block X, Port Nicholson Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 59022, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Revoking Order in Council licensing George Thomas Clendon to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore at Rawene, Hokianga River.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 84, of the thirteenth day of the same month, His Excellency the Governor-General in Council did, in pursuance of the provisions of the Harbours Act, 1908, license George Thomas Clendon, of Rawene, to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Rawene, Hokianga River, as a site for a shipping office and landing-stage, in accordance with plans marked M.D. 4288 (site No. 2) and 4290, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, and upon and subject to the terms and conditions therein set forth:
And whereas the said George Thomas Clendon has applied to have the said license revoked, and it is desirable that the said license should be revoked:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke and determine the said recited Order in Council of the tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred, in so far as it relates to the foreshore and land below low-water mark occupied by the said George Thomas Clendon, but not further or otherwise, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.

Varying a Condition as to Setting-back the Building-line of the South-western Side of Portion of Yarborough Street, in the City of Auckland, imposed by an Order in Council under Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in Gazette No. 7 of the twenty-fifth day of the same month, exempting the north-western side of portion of Dedwood Terrace and the south-western side of portion of Yarborough Street, in the City of Auckland, from the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the north-western side of the portion of Dedwood Terrace and the south-western side of the portion of Yarborough Street abutting on Part Lot 41 and Lot 42, D.P. 13722, part Allotment 13, Section 8, Suburbs
