Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of No. 1 Road Tarred Macadam Special-rating Area, was taken on the 12th day of December, 1923, on the proposal of the Piako County Council to borrow the sum of £12,200 for the purposes following: Bitumen sealing from Main Road to No. 9 Road, £9,771; metalling No. 2 Road 70 chains, £790 7s. 6d.; metalling No. 4 Road, 30 chains, £338; metalling No. 9 Road, 40 chains, £465 10s.; first year’s interest and other charges, £835 2s. 6d.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 62; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan of £2,700.—South Waihekau No. 2 Special-rating Area.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the South Waihekau No. 2 Special-rating Area within the Hungahunga Drainage District, taken on the 18th day of December, 1923, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,700 for the purpose of land-drainage, viz: to cleanse and widen existing watercourses, drains, and outfalls, and to make and construct new watercourses, drains, and outfalls, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 27, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 15.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tamaki West Road District, taken on the 13th day of December, 1923, on the proposal of the Tamaki West Road Board to borrow the sum of £18,000, for the following objects: Developing, extending, and improving the electric light and power service of the district, including the purchase of all necessary plant, and engineering charges and contingencies, £6,000; (2) developing, extending, and improving the waterworks of the district, including the purchase of all necessary plant, and engineering charges and contingencies, £12,000: £18,000,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 273; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 42; informal, 7.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tamaki West Road District, taken on the 13th day of December, 1923, on the proposal of the Tamaki West Road Board to borrow the sum of £4,750 for the following objects: (1) The provision, erection, extension, and furnishing of public offices for the Board and its offices, £1,650; (2) the provision and erection of a fire-station, including the purchase of fire-fighting appliances and equipment, £1,500; (3) the provision, erection, and furnishing of public bathing-sheds and conveniences, £1,600: £4,750.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 234; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 78; informal, 7.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tamaki West Road District, taken on the 13th day of December, 1923, on the proposal of the Tamaki West Road Board to borrow the sum of £21,650 for the following objects: (1) Widening and permanently constructing the roadway along the waterfront to the east of the Main Kohimarama Road, including the acquisition of all necessary land and property therefor, £20,000; (2) the acquisition as a public reserve from the St. John’s College Trust Board or other the owner or owners thereof of an area of land of 5 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, situated at Point England, and known as part Section 1, District of Tamaki, £1,650: £21,650,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 186; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 127; informal, 11.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tamaki West Road District, taken on the 13th day of December, 1923, on the proposal of the Tamaki West Road Board to borrow the sum of £47,500 for the following objects: The widening, permanent formation, construction, and improvement of the public highways of the district, including the acquisition of all necessary land, quarries, materials, and plant, and all engineering charges and contingencies, £47,500.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 214; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 96; informal, 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Aranui Hall Special-rating Area was taken on the 29th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Heathcote County Council to borrow the sum of £1,080 (ten hundred and eighty pounds) for the purpose of the erection of a hall.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 33; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 8.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Ekatahuna was taken on the 9th day of January, 1924, on the proposal to raise a special loan of £3,250 for the purpose of dismantling the present Ekatahuna-Parkville Bridge and re-erecting a concrete structure to take its place, and that the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows:—
For the proposal, 88 votes; against the proposal, 4; informal vote, 1: total votes polled, 93.
I therefore declare the above proposal to be carried.
