SCHEDULE.
GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area situated in the Gisborne Land District, containing by admeasurement 56 acres, more or less, being Lot 1 of Section 1, Block XI, Mangaoporo Survey District, Waiapu County. Bounded on the north by Lot 1 of Section 2, Block VI, Mangaoporo Survey District, 6386·6 links; on the south and south-west by Lot 2 of Section 1, Block XI, Mangaoporo Survey District, 8003·3 links. As delineated on Crown plan No. 3139 in the Survey Office, Gisborne.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of January, 1924.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General, by Proclamation, may from time to time declare any Crown land within any mining district not held under lease or license, or for which a lease or license has been cancelled, to be open for disposal as provided in section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-third section of the said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open on Tuesday, the eighteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, for disposal as provided in section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—OTAGO MINING DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Southland County.—Lindhurst Hundred.
SECTIONS 7A, 15, 16, Block V: Area, 259 acres 0 roods 3 perches. Capital value, £910. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £18 4s.
Situated two miles and a quarter from Brydone Railway-station, school, and dairy factory by good gravelled road. Light soil. About 60 acres in fair grass, balance in tussock and fern. Section rather broken, not suitable for dairying, and on small side for sheep for a separate holding.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Wallace County.—Jacob’s River Hundred.
Section 28, Block XVII: Area, 112 acres. Capital value, £120. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 8s.
Bush land, situated three miles and a half from Wild Bush School, five miles from Aparima Dairy Factory, and seven miles and a half from Riverton, by good gravel road, excepting 100 chains, which is unformed. Suitable for grazing or mixed farming when cleared and brought under cultivation.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS.
Lessees are liable for any expense to which water-race owners are put through wilful or negligent damage done to races during bush-felling operations, such damage to be assessed by the Warden.
Mining claims may be taken up and worked on the said lands upon payment of compensation to be fixed, if necessary, by the Warden, as follows :—
(a.) The value of all improvements (exclusive of buildings) to an amount not exceeding £5 per acre.
(b.) And, in addition to the above, the value of all buildings erected on the said land which are rendered useless by such mining operations.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation made on the nineteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, setting apart settlement lands for selection by discharged soldiers, under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, in so far as it relates to the land in the Schedule hereto

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation made on the ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of November then instant, setting apart settlement lands for selection by discharged soldiers, under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, in so far as it relates to the area shown in the Schedule hereto.
