to be raised by the Tamaki West Road Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the following works—namely, the widening, permanent formation, construction, and improvement of the public highways of the district, including the acquisition of all necessary land, quarries, materials, and plant, and all engineering charges and contingencies, £47,500—the said Tamaki West Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-tenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tamaki West Road District, comprising the whole of the Tamaki West Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the first day of March and the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TAMAKI WEST ROAD BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, the Tamaki West Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £4,750, authorized to be raised by the Tamaki West Road Board under the above-mentioned Act for the following works—namely, (1) The provision, erection, extension, and furnishing of public offices for the Board and its officers, £1,650; (2) the provision and erection of a fire-station, including the purchase of fire-fighting appliances and equipment, £1,500; (3) the provision, erection, and furnishing of public bathing-sheds and conveniences, £1,600: £4,750—the said Tamaki West Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tamaki West Road District, comprising the whole of the Tamaki West Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of March and the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £18,000, authorized to be raised by the Tamaki West Road Board under the above-mentioned Act for the following works—namely, (1) Developing, extending, and improving the electric light and power service of the district, including the purchase of all necessary plant, and engineering charges and contingencies, £6,000; (2) developing, extending, and improving the waterworks of the district, including the purchase of all necessary plant, and engineering charges and contingencies, £12,000: £18,000—the said Tamaki West Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-twelfths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tamaki West Road District, comprising the whole of the Tamaki West Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of March and the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, the Tamaki West Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of one thousand six hundred and fifty pounds (£1,650), authorized to be raised by the Tamaki West Road Board under the above-mentioned Act, being 10 per cent. additional on a loan of sixteen thousand five hundred pounds raised by the said Board for road-improvements, the said Tamaki West Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-fifth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tamaki West Road District, comprising the whole of the Tamaki West Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the first day of March and the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

AMENDED BY LAWS OF FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL, MADE UNDER THE COUNTRY TELEPHONE-LINES ACT, 1912.
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Country Telephone-lines Act, 1912, and the Counties Act, 1920, and all other Acts and powers whatsoever enabling it in that behalf, the Council of the County of Featherston hereby resolves by special order,—
- That By-laws 6 and 7 of the Featherston County Telephone By-law No. 3, 1915, be repealed, and that new by-laws be made as follows:—
“6. Each subscriber shall within ten days after demand by the Council pay to the Council the sums which the Council is required to pay to the Post and Telegraph Department for rental of the subscriber’s telephone and any bureau charges then due thereon.
“7. The Council shall at the end of each year cause a statement to be prepared showing the position of each line, including an estimate for the current year’s maintenance, and the sum so ascertained shall be paid by the subscribers within ten days after demand at a uniform rate per mile in proportion to the number of miles from the point of Post Office control that each subscriber’s telephone bears to the total mileage of the line from the same point.”
The above by-laws were passed at a special meeting of the Featherston County on the 9th day of November, 1923, and confirmed at a meeting of the Council duly convened and held at the Council Chambers on the 19th day of December, 1923.
In pursuance of the Country Telephone-lines Act, 1912, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, hereby approve of the by-laws relating to country telephone-lines made by the Featherston County Council on the 19th day of December, 1923.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between DOUGLAS RUSSELL MURRAY and GEORGE LEONARD CAMERON, as Commission Agents, &c., has been this day dissolved. Mr. Murray has taken over the said business, and all debts due to the late firm are to be paid to him, and his receipt will be sufficient discharge, and he will also discharge all the liabilities of the late firm.
