RESOLUTION.

of all rateable property within the Borough of Inglewood;
and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly
on the first day of July in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.

BOROUGH OF INGLEWOOD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.--LIBRARY BUILDING LOAN, £5,000.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Inglewood Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Inglewood
Borough Council Library Building Loan of £5,000, 1923,
authorized to be raised by the said Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a library building,
such building to include apartments for municipal offices, the
said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one
and one-half of a penny (1½d.) in the pound sterling on the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property in the Borough of Inglewood; and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the
first day of July in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

TAUMARUNUI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE OF THREE FARTHINGS IN THE POUND TO SECURE THE MAUNGAKAHU SPECIAL LOAN.

THAT, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £2,000 authorized to be
raised under the above-mentioned Act, for the formation
of the Maungakahu Valley and Kakiamutu Valley Roads,
the Taumarunui County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of three farthings in the pound upon the rateable
value of all rateable property of the Maungakahu Special-
rating Area, comprising Section I, Block VII, Tuhua Survey
District, and the following subdivisions of Rangitito-Tuhua—
21 Bl A, 21 Bl B, 21 Bl C, 21 B2 A, 21 B2 Bl, 21 B2 B2,
21 B2 B3, 21 B2 B4, 66 A, 66 B, 74 B3, 74 B4, 74 B5, 76 A,
76 B4, and 76 B7; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable half-yearly on the first day of April and the first
day of October in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.

HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION OF JANUARY 28TH, 1924, MAKING SECURITY RATE FOR MOUNT PLEASANT No. 1 10-PER-CENT. SUPPLEMENTARY WORKER'S DWELLING LOAN.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by
the Counties Act, 1920, sections 192 and 193, and the
Local Bodies' Loans' Act, 1913, the Heathcote County Council
hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
principal on a loan of £100 to be known as the Mount
Pleasant No. 1 Ten-per-cent. Workers' Dwelling Loan, autho-
ized to be raised by the Heathcote County Council under the
above-mentioned Acts and authorities for the purpose of
erecting a worker's dwelling in the Mount Pleasant Riding,
the said Heathcote County Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one-fortieth (1/40th) of a penny in the pound
upon the rateable value upon all the rateable property of
the special rating area, comprising the whole of the Mount
Pleasant Riding, being a legal subdivision in the County of
Heathcote in Canterbury; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and shall be payable half-yearly on the first day of
August and the first day of February in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Tokanui-Fortrose Hack Racing Club at a meet-
ing held on the 7th day of January, 1924, at Tokanui, with a
recommendation by the Acting Chairman of such club, Mr.
William Crosbie, that the same be passed at once with a view
to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General
in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. William Crosbie, the Acting Chairman of such club and
the meeting, moved, and Mr. A. McPhail seconded, and it was
resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that
the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in
authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:

THE TOKANUI-FORTROSE HACK RACING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Tokanui-
Fortrose Hack Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning
of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”),
doith hereby make the following regulations controlling the
admission of persons to that part of Mr. H. M. McLeod’s
farm situated in the district of Tokanui, and known as the
Tokanui Racecourse while the said racecourse is used or
occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
    club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act,
  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the racecourse above described while the same is used
    or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
    (a.) Bookmakers.
    (b.) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and book-
    makers’ agents.
    (c.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
    racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New
    Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or else-
    where if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Con-
    ference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference,
    or the New Zealand Trotting Association.
    (d.) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually con-
    sort with thieves or persons who have no lawful
    visible means of support.
    (e.) Professional tipsters, persons, convicted of house-
    breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or
    possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences,
    receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any
    offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act,
    1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues,
    and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted
    under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons
    convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.
    Provided always that the Stipendiary Stewards’ Committee
    appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being
    satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any
    person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the
    scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect
    thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at
    any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such
    person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.
    The foregoing regulations of the Tokanui-Fortrose Hack
    Racing Club were made and passed by such club on the 7th
    day of January, 1924, and signed by the Chairman and
    Secretary.

fore subsisting, under the name of “C. K. Dick and
Company,” between CHARLES KENNEDY DICK and ALBERT
FREDERICK JAUNCEY, both of the City of Wellington, Land
Agents, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the
26th day of January, 1924.
