Inspectors of Factories and of Weights and Measures appointed.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:—

William Currie, Esq.,

to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Factories Act, 1921–22 and an Inspector for the purposes of the Weights and Measures Act, 1908, as from the 11th day of February, 1924; and

James McIvor, Esq.,

to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Factories Act, 1921–22, and an Inspector for the purposes of the Weights and Measures Act, 1908, as from the 18th day of February, 1924.

Members of Clutha River Board appointed.

IT is hereby notified that

John Crawford Anderson, of Stirling, and Joseph Mosley, of Clydevale, have been appointed by the Governor-General,

James Allen, of Greenfield, has been appointed by the Bruce County Council,

Arthur C. Leary, of Evans Flat, by the Tuapeka County Council; and

Henry Morrison, of Wharetoa, by the Clutha County Council,

to be members of the Clutha River Board, under the Clutha River Board Empowering Act 1898 Amendment Act, 1900.

Commissioner of Supreme Court appointed.

ARTHUR EVELYN SYMES, Esquire, of Blackall, Queensland, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Robert Stout, P.C., K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, in the State of Queensland, under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Lieutenant L. V. Bellingham is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 4. Dated 7th February, 1924.

5TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (OTAGO HUSSARS).

Frederick John Brook to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 5th February, 1924.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

2nd Lieutenant G. R. Cowie, from the Reserve of Officers, to be 2nd Lieutenant (17th Battery). Dated 12th February, 1924.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) T. O. L. Armstrong (1st “C” Battalion) resigns his appointment. Dated 7th February, 1924.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant N. N. Pryde (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 2. Dated 8th February, 1924.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

Phillip Sydney Newell Connell to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) 1st “C” Battalion. Dated 15th February, 1924.

2nd Lieutenant A. N. Harold (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 3. Dated 7th February, 1924.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Captain H. P. Kidson (1st “C” Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated 14th February, 1924.

THE SOUTHLAND REGIMENT.

Joseph Thomas Erridge to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), (2nd “C” Battalion). Dated 4th January, 1924.

Captain D. McF. Rae (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 12. Dated 22nd February, 1924.

Lieutenant W. Trembath (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 12. Dated 16th February, 1924.

THE N.Z. AIR FORCE.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS’ DEPARTMENT.

The commission granted the Reverend J. C. Darby, Chaplain, 4th Class, is cancelled. Dated 12th February, 1924.

N.Z. ARMY NURSING SERVICE.

Sister J. H. E. Beer (Reserve List) retires under the provisions of General Order No. 282/21, with permission to retain her rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 6th February, 1924.
