Land temporarily reserved in the Taranaki Land District as an Endowment for Secondary Education.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Taranaki Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, as an endowment for secondary education.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 perches, more or less, being part of Section 2027, Town of New Plymouth. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 2028, Education Reserve, 75·02 links; towards the south-east by Devon Street, 42 links; towards the south-west by other part of Section 2027, 75·02 links; and towards the north-west by Section 15, Native Reserve, 42 links; all of Town of New Plymouth: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 20/147, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

Opening National-endowment Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the fourteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Bay of Islands County.—Motatau Survey District.
SECTION 10, Block IV: Area, 579 perches 0 roods 4 perches; capital value, £940; renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £18 16s.
Easy sloping to undulating land. Soil fair to poor clay, on sandstone. About 50 acres bush, comprising a few kauri, totara, and rimu trees, with a light to heavy undergrowth of punga, nikau, kiekie, &c.; balance fern and manuka. Situated about six miles from Kawakawa and three miles from Maromaku.
Waitemata County.—Waipareira Parish.
Section 272: Area, 9 acres 2 roods 26 perches; capital value, £90; half-yearly rent, £1 16s.
Section 283: Area, 11 acres 2 roods 20 perches; capital value, £120; half-yearly rent, £2 8s.
Weighted with £75 valuation for improvements, consisting of small house of three rooms, iron roof, brick chimney. Built of matai.
Section 272: Altitude, 200 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Broken to undulating land, covered in hakea, manuka, and fern; about three-quarters of the section is ploughable. The soil is of clay varying from poor clay to good loam resting on clay and pipe-clay formation. The section is well watered by springs and swampy streams. Situated about three miles from Swanson by formed road, one mile and a half of which is metalled, or three miles from Henderson Railway-station, two miles and a half of which is metalled.
Section 283: Altitude, 30 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level, undulating to steep land covered with ti-tree and fern. Soil is of brown loam resting on clay formation. Distant about three miles from Henderson by good cart-road, two miles and a half of which is metalled.

Notifying Lands in Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and twenty-six of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rishworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Kiwitea County.—Town of Kimbolton.
Lot 3, subdivision of Section 6, D.P. 636: Area, 1 rood; upset price, £25.
This section comprises flat land, suitable for a building-site. Frontage to Main Street, opposite the Kimbolton Post-office.
Section 72: Area, 1 acre 1 rood; upset price, £30.
Situated in Henderson Street, about half a mile from the centre of the township by good metalled road. Comprises all flat land in grass. Soil is of light brown loam, on shingle formation. Altitude, 1,800 ft.
Kiwitea County.—Town of Livingstone.
Section 73: Area, 7 acres 2 roods 30 perches; upset price, £154.
Situated in the Town of Livingstone, about seven miles from Hunterville. Comprises flat land, felled and grassed. Soil of light brown loam, resting on shingle formation.
Kaitieke County.—Owhango Township.
Section 14, Block V: Area, 2 roods 11·5 perches; upset price, £30.
Weighted with £100, valuation for improvements, consisting of dwelling (three rooms) three sheds, fowlhouse, fencing, shelter-trees and orchard, to be paid in cash immediately on the fall of the hammer.
Situated in the Town of Owhango, with frontage to One-matua Road and Ohoeka Street, about a mile from the Owhango Railway-station. Comprises flat land under cultivation.
