deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-
simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-
simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay
or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it
is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the
First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described
in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land
described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such
exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid
powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his
intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land
described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the
fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being
Section 16 (originally portion of Section 3), Block X,
Mangakahia Survey District. As the same is delineated on
the plan marked L. and S. 16/1124, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon coloured brown.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
ALL those areas in the North Auckland Land District
situated in Block X, Mangakahia Survey District, being
part of Maungapohatu South No. 3 and part of Waiaruhe
No. 2 Blocks, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood
and 1 acre 1 rood 22 perches respectively, more or less.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
16/1124, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 14th day of February, 1924.

Notifying Land in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public
Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by section one hundred and twenty-six of the Land
Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Thursday, the twenty-first day of February, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-four, as the time at which the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction
for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the
price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned
in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Rotorua County.-Tarawera Survey District.
SECTION 3, Block II : Area, 173 acres ; upset price, f260.
This section is situated about four miles from Rotorua,
and has a good frontage to the Wairoa Road. Undulating
to hilly country, with light sandy soil covered with a growth
of fern and tutu, with a few small patches of native bush.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General this 12th day of February, 1924.
