Allocating Cost of certain Proceedings under Section 132 of
the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, Borough of Oamaru.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day
of February, 1924.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section one
hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations
Act, 1920, and of every other power and authority enabling
him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doith hereby direct that the Oamaru Borough Council shall
defray all the costs of the Commission appointed under the
said Act by Warrants under the hand of His Excellency the
Governor-General dated the nineteenth day of May and the
the thirteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-three, to inquire and report upon the proposal to
exclude a certain area from the County of Waitaki, and to
include such area in the Borough of Oamaru.

Authorizing the Opunake Electric-power Board to construct
Electric Works.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day
of February, 1924.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him
by section forty-nine of the Electric-power Boards Act,
1918, as amended by section seventeen of the Electric-power
Boards Amendment Act, 1920, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Opunake
Electric-power Board to erect electric lines as shown on the
plan marked P.W.D. 58459, deposited in the office of the
Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington
Land District, and such further lines as may from time to
time be required in the Outer Area of the Opunake Electric-
power District, as defined by Proclamation dated the ninth
day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 77 of the
eighteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-one, subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
- No electric lines shall be used for the distribution of
electrical energy until the Opunake Electric-power Board
has obtained a license for such purposes in accordance with
the provisions of section 2 of the Public Works Amendment
Act, 1911. - Any conditions inserted in such license shall be strictly
complied with by such Board. - Such Board shall forward for the approval of the Minister
of Public Works such further plans and particulars as the
Minister may require. - The Board shall not, without the consent in writing of
the Minister of Public Works, erect any electric lines along
the routes of the Government main trunk transmission lines. - The works hereby authorized shall be constructed so as
to comply with the regulations made under section 2 of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, dated the 9th day of
October, 1922, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of
the 12th day of the same month, or any regulations made in
amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, which regula-
tions shall be deemed to be incorporated herein. - The Board shall substantially complete the works hereby
authorized within a period of one year from the date of this
Order in Council, or within such further time as the Minister
may allow in the event of the work being delayed by strikes,
lockouts, breakdowns, or other unavoidable causes not due
to any neglect of the Board.

Authorizing the Franklin County Council to erect a Memorial
Hall at Patumahoe as a Permanent War Memorial.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this 12th day
of February, 1924.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING
IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Finance
Act, 1919 (hereinafter referred to as "the said section,"
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
approve of the provision by the Franklin County Council
of a memorial hall as a permanent war memorial, as provided
by the said section; and, with the like advice and consent,
doith hereby approve of the erection of such monument in
that portion of Patumahoe described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 1 rood 9Β·1 perches, more or less,
being Lot 4 of Allotments 7 and 8, Suburban Section 1,
Puni Parish.

IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section one
hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations
Act, 1920, and of every other power and authority enabling
him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doith hereby direct that the Gisborne Borough Council shall
defray all the costs of the Commission appointed under the
said Act by Warrants under the hand of His Excellency the
Governor-General dated the eighteenth day of January, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and the fourth
day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, to
hold an inquiry and make a report on the proposal to exclude
an area from the County of Cook and include such area in
the Borough of Gisborne.

Consenting to Land being taken for the Purposes of a School
in the City of Nelson.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day
of February, 1924.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in any-
wise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Gov-
ernor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto being taken for the purposes
of a school, portion of such land being occupied by buildings
and gardens.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land being taken: 1 acre
3 roods 7 perches, being portions of Sections 62, 63, 64, 65
N.R., and closed road.
Situated in the City of Nelson.
