Town Board, in trust, as an endowment or for the use of the

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of One
Thousand Pounds (£1,000) proposed to be raised by the
Eketahuna County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day
of December, 1923.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Eketahuna County Council, acting
under and in pursuance of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913, proposes to raise a loan of one thousand pounds
(£1,000) for the purposes of forming and metalling the
Hamua–Hukanui Road deviation, purchasing the land, and
paying all other expenses pertaining to the purchase and
legalization of the road:
And whereas the poll of ratepayers was taken less than one
week after the notices required to be published by section
nine of the said Act, the last advertisement appearing on
the sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-three, and the poll was taken on the eleventh idem,
five days afterwards: And whereas it appears that the
ratepayers have not been misled by the irregularity or
defect, and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one
hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order
and declare that the proceedings taken shall be valid to all
intents and purposes as though the provisions of sections nine
and ten of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, had been
correctly complied with, and that the validity of the pro-
ceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called
into question by reason only of the irregularities or defects
aforesaid.

Notice as to Change of Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in
the Town of Woodville, Hawke’s Bay Land District.
JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS, by notice issued pursuant to section six of
the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, dated
the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-three, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-
second day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
three, the purpose for which the portion of the reserve de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto was set apart was changed
from a reserve for police purposes to a reserve for post and
telegraph purposes:
And whereas the said notice was laid before Parliament
pursuant to the provisions of section seven of the said Act,
and no resolution has been passed by either House of Parlia-
ment that such House does not assent to such change of
purpose:
And whereas it is provided by the said section seven that
if no such resolution is passed by either House, then, from
and after the termination of the then session of Parliament,
such change of purpose, in accordance with the terms of the
notice, shall be valid and effectual for all purposes whatso-
ever:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Go-
vernor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
notify that no such resolution as aforesaid has been passed by
either House of Parliament, and that the change of purpose
as set forth in the notice aforesaid has taken effect accordingly
as from the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-three (being the date of the termination of
the session during which the notice aforesaid was laid before
Parliament).
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing
by admeasurement 1 rood 14·2 perches, more or less, being
Lot 1 of Suburban Section 43, Woodville. As the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
6/7/116, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 22nd day of December, 1923.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public
Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by section one hundred and twenty-six of the
Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint Thursday, the twenty-first day of February, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, as the time at
which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be
sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments;
and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be
sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
