Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 5th December, 1923.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Rodney, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loans.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Hill’s Road Special-rating District of the County of Rodney was taken on the 16th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Rodney County Council to borrow a sum of twelve hundred pounds (£1,200) for metalling portion of the Hill’s Road.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 28; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

COUNTY OF EGMONT.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan for erecting Bridges.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Egmont taken on the 19th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Egmont County Council to borrow the sum of £20,000 for erecting certain bridges within the county,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 339; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 96; the number of informal votes recorded was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan for Reconstruction of Roads.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Egmont taken on the 19th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Egmont County Council to borrow the sum of £65,000 for reconstruction of certain roads within the county,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 307; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 126; the number of informal votes recorded was 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Kaimai Special-rating Area of the County of Tauranga, taken on the 17th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Tauranga County Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of widening, regrading, culverting, and metalling unmetalled portions of the Tauranga–Cambridge Road, situated between the Ruahihi Bridge and the southern boundary of the County of Tauranga, all within the boundaries of the Kaimai Special-rating Area of the County of Tauranga,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 11; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5; informal, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Wharawhara Special-rating Area of the County of Tauranga, taken on the 17th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Tauranga County Council to borrow the sum of £500 for the purpose of constructing a traffic-bridge over the Wharawhara Stream on the Old Mill Road, situated in Block IX, Katikati Survey District, within the boundaries of the Wharawhara Special-rating Area,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 5; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 4.
I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.

Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Otaki River District, taken on the 31st day of October, 1923, on the proposal of the Otaki River Board to raise a special loan of £750, for No. 1 protective works,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 40; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Otaki River District, taken on the 31st day of October, 1923, on the proposal of the Otaki River Board to raise a special loan of £750 for No. 2 protective works,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 40; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF TE AWAMUTU.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan of £40,000.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1923, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Te Awamutu, taken on the 28th day of November, 1923, on the proposal of the Te Awamutu Borough Council to borrow the sum of £40,000 (forty thousand pounds) for the construction of streets in the Borough of Te Awamutu, including channelling, metalling, and tar-sealing the same,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 255; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 61.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
